College Sports

I was planning on not playing but the coach called today saying I have a good chance starting as a freshman. If you have played a college sport was it fun? Take up a lot of time? Make good friends?

I mean if you want to get a good education it's probably not recommended but that's dependent on the sport.

I'm gonna do they cycling club (team) next year and compete in DH.

I was thinking about ski club (team) also.

They had a bunch of cuts at my school and now most of the teams are clubs, but still compete

it is a truly unimaginable time commitment but you make some awesome friends and it's a great experience. but you need to be prepared to spend basically all of your time doing that sport

Im gonna be honest, coaches tell that to a lot of recruits just so they come play for them. He isnt guaranteeing you anything. My friend was told that by the UVM basketball coach, went there because of that and no other reason, Sat the bench the majority of his freshmen year and transferred because he hated the school.

A coaches job is to convince you to come to the school when you are being recruited, and the next year his job is to find someone to replace you.

If you really love the sport and consider it a large part in your life and can't live without it, then yes, but if you're on the fence about it, then no.
