College room mates

I was wondering if any of you know how they pick the room mates, and if they usually pick them out well for people. I'm kind of worried im going to get some kid that is going to steal my shit
 
depends on what school you're going to. some schools have a questionire thing that you fill out. but others don't. my school didn't(UVM). But I met my roommate at orientation and it ended up working out great
 
you'll probably take some kind of online survey about your interests hobbies upbringing etc and they'll set you up with people that answered similarly

there should also be some way you can pick a roommate if you have a friend you want to room with
 
they ask you what time you like to study, if you like studying with music or television, if you smoke, if you mind having a roommate who smokes, how cleanly you are, and probably some other stuff i dont remember.
 
There's really nothing you can do if you decide to let the school choose a room-mate for you. You're just going to have to take the risk.

As to your roomie stealing shit. Don't worry about that, if you accuse him of it and have good reason to, they'll just move him and you'll get another.

Just be open-minded. You'll be pretty damn lucky if you end up wanting to hang out with your room mate. But I had a roommate I had nothing in common with but it still worked out fine. Just compromise on shit and realize he's just as nervous to live with someone he doesn't know as you are.
 
Gonna have to say you're quite the outlier. I'm just being rational when I'm telling him all this. Of course there's a chance he could get some super chill dude as his roommate that he becomes best friends with. Not likely though.
 
I am going into my Sophomore year with my Freshman room mate. We are the perfect match, despite our differences.
 
college roommates are like prisoners. beat the shit out of someone the first day, or become somebody's bitch.

But really, it isn't that bad. Even if you get stuck with someone you don't really like...it'll actually help you make more friends. I didn't like either of mine too much (forced triple) so since i tried to stay out of there often, i ended up meeting a bunch of cool people and found 2 great guys to room with next year, and we all get along flawlessly.

or if you have a feeling you won't get along...just don't talk. I did that with one of mine as well. We knew we wouldn't get along well, so we talked minimally so we wouldn't find out more about each other to not like. As a result we got along just fine.

 
Don't sweat the whole roommate thing... worst case scenario you just move room 2 weeks into the year. I got really lucky and ended up becoming really really good friends with my freshman year roommate, but most of the time it works out where you two will get along and nothing bad will happen.
 
i was this kids suitemate. and let me tell you, shit was scary. his little midget ass tried to climb into bed with me drunk all the time. Kid was a fucking HOMO. On multiple occasions i caught him trying to catch a sneak when i got out of the shower and i legit caught him 2 times sniffing my boxers. Complete fucking weirdo. The only thing worse would have been a legit pedifile. My roomate was cool as fuck though and we chilled all day everyday
 
I used to think this kid was chill until i walked in on him dildoing himself with his lacrosse stick. the first time was awkward but it was the times after that that really irked me. one time i woke up went to the bathroom like usual. kid forgets to lock the stall and guess what hes doing...again except he offered to "stick me" that time and thats when i decided enough was enough and stopped talking to him. one time i found his lacrASS stick under my bedsheets--this ended up being the most disgusting batch of laundry i ever had to do.
 
I am still best friends with 1/3 of my floor from freshman year. We are all tight as hell. that may be because we raised hell that year. We were the worst floor in the history of our school.
 
hmmmm. last time i checked everytime you walked into my room with me doing anything sexual it was with a girl. unlike this kid who didnt get shit all year. You are from THE GAY so i expect nothing less, but still.
