College Hockey fans?

Just wondering if there were any other die hard college hockey fans around on here? And what team you represent. I'm a huge CC fan! For those who do its been a heck of a year eh?

I'm definitely not a die hard fan but I follow it a bit since I go to Michigan and we're pretty dominant this year. Incidentally the only game I went to this year we lost.

I wouldn't call only 6 goals from a former Hobey Baker candidate "lighting it up". Not to mention he's been out of the line up since Janurary with a shoulder injury sustained against CC, but still, only 6 goals in the 24 games he's played is pretty mediocre considering how well he played last season. But AF deffinitly is giving a run at the frozen four after beating Bentley 9-2 this weekend!

Yeah he's had quite a year! We got Bachman in the running for the Hobey from CC! Only weakness Michigan has this year is Strength of Schedule, as does the whole CCHA.

WCHA Dominance is pretty Evident!

Yea CCHA isnt weak at all. Michigan's played and beat Boston U, Boston College, Mich Tech, Minnesota, Wisky, and almost swept Miami that was #1 at the time. That isn't exactly a cakewalk schedule

my best friend from high school plays goalie and he did a post grad year, hes goen to unh next year to play on a scholarship, hes dirty

Not weak, but not the WCHA! UND and CC have the first and fourth hardest Strength of Schedule. Michigan State has the hardest in the CCHA. Michigan is 15th. Beating Mich Tech, Minnesota and Wisconsin means they've only beaten teams in the bottom half of the WCHA. UNH and Michigan State are the two strongest teams outside of the WCHA in my opinion and seeing them both play in person. Jeff Lerg is a better goaltender then Billy Sauer when he's on. The only problem with the CCHA is the GAA. Jeff Zatkoff is the only goalie in the CCHA that has been really stand out, but then again Miami's Strength of Schedule is ranked 29th, with a schedule like that its easy to stand out on defense in a high scoring league. The funny part about this whole year is that 2 of the bottom 5 teams will probably make it to the frozen four, meaning 7 out of 16 teams could potentially be from the WCHA.

How the brackets would look if the tournament started today:

West Regional:

Minn.-Duluth vs. Colorado College

Minnesota vs. Miami

Midwest Regional:

Wisconsin vs. New Hampshire

Minnesota State vs. Michigan State

East Regional:

Army vs. Michigan

St. Cloud State vs. Clarkson

Northeast Regional:

Bemidji State vs. North Dakota

Boston College vs. Denver

So actually 8 WCHA teams.

UNH, been a fan my whole life. Been going to games for 15 years now, the best not be chocking in the NCAAs again this year.

I was at the games earlier this season when CC played there, and I'll say even though CC was playing the goalie who is now there back up, UNH has been the best team i've seen all season outside the WCHA.

UNH has been playing the best hockey in a while at the end this year, until they clinched HE. I'm hoping that's out of their system, because they were on fire for awhile and I know they can beat anyone when they play that well.

Heres how I think the tourney will play out to be:

Madison--Michigan v Air Force, St Cloud v Michigan State

Worcester--New Hampshire v Niagara, Boston College v Minnesota

Colorado Springs--Colorado College v Notre Dame, Denver v Clarkson

Albany--Miami v Princeton, North Dakota v Minnesota State

6, not 8 WCHA teams

4 CCHA

I used to go to alot of the Umass games when i lived in amherst. they were doing really good in the begining of the year

I go to UMD and i really didnt think we couldmake it in, we were doing so well this season, then we went for like 200 min with 1 goal and dropped back so many places, and i guess that was a prelim kinda deal you made
