Who else graduated this spring and is in the job market. As you can see I have still not landed a job yet (because of the hour of my post). However, anyone out there get a good job out of school, and/or not having luck out of school?
 
graduated last year, got my job through someone at a p/t job i use to work at, its basically all about networking, 10000 people will be applying to the same job you applied to, and unless you had some good ass grades, good experience or graduated from a good ass school there will be much better people out there for the job, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Maybe do something cool before your student loans come in (not sure your situation). Go vollenture for a few months overseas some where, go backpack for a few months. You just graduated dont be discouraged you havent found a job yet.

You are going to be working the next 45 years of your life take a few moths and live off the high from getting out of college for a while. Once you get a job/apartment payments/ things change and its hard to get out of that rut, just have some fun man.
 
Oh yeah I am in no big rush or worry. Shit will come together. I was just curious if anyone has gotten some cool jobs or doing anything fun in the mean time of school to career transition shiz. Oh and believe me I know that there are thousands of people applying for the same shit. Not to mention most resumes and cover letters never even get read by the company. All electronic sorting these days.
 
Just graduated this spring with a NYS teaching degree. As of right now, the job market for teachers in NY is very bad (along with most other professions obviously), so I'm just going straight into my graduate work. I have to have a Master's degree and 2 years teaching experience within 5 years of graduating my undergrad. So I figure I'll get it out of the way now, while substitute teaching in a few school districts.
 
I just graduated back in May and (most days) happily unemployed, got a degree in civil engineering so I'm blaming the economy. Currently attempting to hike the highest points in every state, so far I've gotten; NH, VT, RI, NJ, PA, MD, WV, GA, and SC. Going out to the Tetons in 2 weeks so hopefully get some good hikes in there as well.
 
i graduated last may. got my esl teaching certification. stayed in montreal for 6 months to start that. moved back to the states in february to take a teaching position in the Providence area. things are going fine so far. im planning on going back to school to complete a masters in applied linguistics within the next few years. i would like to get a few solid years of experience teaching first though. also just started as a back server at a really nice restaurant in providence for some extra income and i am liking that as well. learning a lot about good food and wine. between those two jobs im doing alright for the moment.
