Nhn. -3 really is -1x3. Therefore when you square -3 not in parentheses it really is -1x3x3. The negative is it's own number that gets multiplied back in. When you put it all in parentheses it becomes -3x-3=9.

You can't define zero by zero because if you add 3 to it then you have a 3 and if you add a 3 to that then you have 3 more and if you make it zero again then I can't define it so it must be imaginary.
