Collarbone. When can I ski again?

it took me...more ductapeboy and not me...but yea..it took him 2 weeks before he was skiing again..but he had surgery to make it so he could ski faster. he also broke it in 5 spots though.

i didnt ski till 8 weeks after.. almost when it was fully healed.

Mine broke pretty bad in one place. But I was able to ski after 3 weeks. As I neared 4 I was 100% and could throw down in the park again.

I broke mine 3 weeks ago pretty bad, and the doctor says ive got to wait another 3 weeks at least. But I had also dislocated my shoulder so I guess its less if you only break your collarbone.

i just broke my collarbone today. i hate it, right b4 march break, and typing with one finger sucks. i'm hping its heeled before my spring break trip, which is 3 weeks away

I go to the US on a ski trip and meet this american girl. She asks, 'where are you from?'. I answer, 'Ottawa, Canada'. 'Where's Ottawa', she replies. Oh man ...americans...
 
^ your doctor is lying to you. mine said it doesn't matter. you can ski either way... it just hurts a bunch.... and it will heal either way. mine is bent like 90 degrees right now and the doctor says its still ok.

Collarbones heal fast. Just tough it out and in 2-3 weeks, you can get out on the snow and ride, but probly no park. Maybe small tables and small rails/boxes. As long as you don't fall..

you can probly ski easy in a week or two, but dont do anything to crazy for at least a motnh

don't risk skiing too early. If you ski before it's healed and land badly it can break again, worse. It's not worth risking it for an extra week skiing. The doctors tend to exaggerate how long it'll take to heal though.

Hopefully my cracked rib is healed well by next weekend..I'm going skiiiiing. It feels pretty good, and I can run and flop onto my bed on my back..so by then it should be good.

my doc said it will just float around a bit for a while.. and it takes 6 weeks to actually bond and heal... but you can ski with it broken no problem, cuz it will still be broken.. so you can't really break it any more.

i broke mine went out 2 months later and broke it again. I didnt even fall that hard. The docter said it takes 4-6 months for it to be 100%. now i cant ski the rest of the season. so if you go out dont do anything that you have a good chance of falling on

I skied 2 weeks after mine, I snapped it good, 90 degrees. I was in the park hittin the tables with only one arm. Can't keep me away.

i saw my doctor last frday and he said i could do pretty much anything once i could do push-ups and clap my hands in between them.

I really want to go skiing but I really can't risk losing a whole other year. I'll probably go just skiing the glades in a couples of weeks though. It still hurts now though.

my doc. said i'll be out for min. 4 weeks without ding anything with the arm affected. Then 6-10 weeks before my arm can start to do activites, but nothing rutal liek rugby until after 12 weeks. FUCK

every case is different and you have to realize that first off. i broke mine back in october when i was mountainbiking. i had to get a plate and 8 screws put in it (see my pics). it took 8 weeks before it was heeled enough for me to ski safe. sure you can ski right away but if you bump it right or fall on it then you will fuck it up even more. operation is rare but it does speed up recovery time. but sad to say you should stay out of the park for the rest of the season. after 4 weeks (if your season is not over) you can probely saftely go back to rec skiing on groomers. but stay out of the park. it can take up to 4 months before it is back to full strength. dont feel to bad, i just broke my thumb this sunday.

wow... i guess im fucked eh? i went skiing two weeks after my surgury... i was only doing rails for a little while... i fell down some stairs 5 weeks in, and bent it some, but the doc sais it is ok. meh
