i heard a rumor that this is going to be the coldest winter in like 15 years!!!!!! has anyone else heard about that......anyway is FREAKIN AWWSOOME!!!!

I dont want the coldest winter ever, i want the WETEST winter ever.

Extreme Cold = Cold me skiing

Extreme Precip. + Normal Cold = Warmish me skiing lot sof pow!

haha

well considering last year i was putting xmas decorations out in tshirt and shorts and this year i had a sweat shirt and my ski jacket on i would say the northeast is off to a good start, i mean my local hill opened last year dec 6 and was shitty all of december, this year they opened the 21st of nov and we almost have as much terrain open as we did last year at christmas, i have a feeling things are gonna be a little different from last winter lol.

considering that it's snowing in seattle at the end of november i'm hopeful for a cold winter for the PNW

yah i saw that on the msn news dude...not coldesty ever but they say long and hard (no dirty thoughts)...that doesnt really mean lots of snow either

not cool. today my face froze off at killington. its only dec. 1st!! and it was windy as shit off the gondola

It was definitely very cold at the mountain today. My face was freezing! Nice change from last year.

last year was one of the westest years, and look what happened in the east...you need the cold

ha its snowing hella in town right now (bend, Oregon) and its windy as fuck and when i was at bachelor yesterday it was almost complete white out and fuckin cold for december

coldest winter doesnt have anything to do with most snow, i just want most precip, and temps cold enough to support snow

Well, it's been like -12 to -16 C up at Whistler the last couple nights, it's pretty sweet. 16cm new snow last night too. Dayum. Looks slike we're in for an awesome season

cali still doesnt have anything....it sucks knowing your dick is longer than the base depth at your local mountain.

I'm not so sure about that. In fact, I am pretty sure that colder temperatures (to a point) mean lighter, fluffier, more enjoyable powder. So, yea, colder could be better.

here in the east we dont get enough snowfall to even ski on so as long as its cold they can make snow. so keep the cold coming

allmost all the snow the mountains around here (baker stevens pass snoqualmie etc.) have had such cold weather and snow that they cant groom the runs because its to fluffy! i think its tight they just need to get lots of snow allong with this cold weather.

THis is all part of global warming. You get really extreme weather, such as abnormally warm and then you get abnormally cold.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you are so wrong, u want a hella cold w/ precip winter, not a wet one, cuz thats just rain. I hate rain.

fool.

True, but at the same time you have to realize that if it's cold and dry for any extended period all the snow you have is just going to sit there and rot. Faceted snow=a bad time. I'm hoping for 22 degrees night and day through mid-march with 900 inches of snow.

early cold winters are not a good thing long term, at least not in my experience. Hope I am wrong.

Its true, a couple months ago some one posted some weather website had those winter predictions that had said that the east and midwest would be getting above avereag snowfall and colder than average temperatures. cant find the thread though.

It may not be the coldest, but we got the earliest snowstorm in MN that I can remember. Over a foot on Dec 1, that's insane for the Midwest.

its fucking 60 outside at my house today! my resort still hasn't opened up. i think it was like 40 there today. but i guess a cold front is supposed to come in. bull shit though. doesn't seem like northwest is getting hit very well

yo i agree. i live in jersey and what we think is a good snowfall here is like 7 inches. we get that like maybe once a month in the winter and if you packed that its only a like one inch base. we need the cold.
