COC cancels last 2 weeks

COC cancelled the last two sessions a while ago as a point of fact.

It definitely could be the end of summer skiing. Hell with climate change it could be the end of skiing as a whole.

Of course, things could sweep in the other direction and all of a sudden there's killer winters in both places and everything is fine. Maybe not in the meta perspective, but certainly for a few years.

The snowmaking in Whistler is very interesting. I mean on the east actual snowfall barely matters anymore... if you get the temps you nuke the shit out of the mountain with the guns and you're good.

I am actually meeting up with the guy who is heading up the snowmaking on the glacier next season next week to get some info for an article on the state of the glacier Im witting.

Any questions anyone has for him?

Jesus christ, Hood bounced back from 2005, a very comparable year to this, with some of the highest snow summers on records in 2010 and '11. Now its 2015 and we are back in the dumps, shit works in cycles my man.

exactly.

i'm willing to bet that the coming season will be at least average or above average for snowfall.

climate change doesn't just happen over 6 months. it takes years and years for it to make a constant, noticeable difference. i'm not saying we shouldn't pay attention to our mother earth but i don't think we'll be seeing a constant string of seasons like this for a very long time.

how well do you think this will work in short term (for next summer)

do you expect to see the glacier recover and grow in the long term?
