Cliff Jumping?

There's a bridge over the Jordan that people jump off of sometimes but I can't remember where it is

no but they dont really like it so they screw you for parking in the wrong areas. Pretty much you used to park at one of the 2 rest areas and walk to the cliff jumping but now they will tow you if you park at those rest areas

they realize thats parking for hikers that dont go cliff jumping right? so people who arent crossing the freeway and just hiking the hills are still getting towed?

yuppp. After we showed up and realized the cop was towing people we told him we just wanted to hike since we couldnt cliff jump and drove an hour and a half from SL.. he simply said "thats bullshit, I know you wont hike youll just wait for me to leave then go cliffjump, you will be towed if youre not with your car" so we ended up just leaving. One of our friends went cliff jumping like a week before and she came back and all of their cars were gone. They had to get someone from SL to drive all the way out there to pick them up and bring them back, no warning or anything

Surprised to hear that Echo is a bust now. I was just up there yesterday and we parked in the rest area and had zero problems. You actually used to be able to park directly above the cliffs on the side of the highway but I noticed they put up a few no parking signs. I guess it's hit or miss up there. Causey is pretty fun but it's about an hour northeast of SLC.

yeah i went to ecko about a week ago and had no problems. All of my friends have been going this summer too and they haven't had any problems. You just have to make sure you park in the rest stop on the side of the highway heading back towards park city

we left our car at the rest stop last time and it had the windows painted with one of those markers with some codes to tow it..but we got there before the truck did..so lucky..never received a citation or anything either

and thats so fucked about getting towed! I mean you are parking in a legit spot off the highway, it sucks those pigs have to be dicks like that.

I went down to Echo, and it twas legit.

Word is that you only get towed if you're on the highway. If you're at the rest stop, you're golden. I mean, thats what the stops are for, to stop

yeah well that word is incorrect unfortunately. I guess it depends on what cop you get but I know for a fact that some of them will tow you

i got a jaywalking ticket there this summer. the pig said it was okay to park at rest stop if ur going opposite from SL. its just a little longer walk. i still cant believe i got a 40$ jaywalking ticket

Causey Dam, about a half hour out of Ogden. No one gives a fuck, and there are a couple of good lines so can move around and avoid the crowds. If you bring a canoe then you can access the more pristine drops.

yeah echo is legit, just park at the rest area on the same side of the road as the cliffs, I think you will be fine, just be sure to bring some boooze for extra fun points, and be sure to check out all the pretty valley girls out and about.... other than that damn out of ogden, any other good spots.

Bump

I want to head up to Echo soon for the first time. Has anybody been there recently and know if the cops are still being strict?

I used to go to echo all the time but havent been in a couple years. I heard mutiple stories...but it sounds like you can get a ticket for trespassing, cuz its gov.t property off the side of the freeway, and you can only access cliffs by boat/water! You can also get your car towed, jay walking ticket, disorderly conduct w/drinking and shit, the list seems to go on for a decent ways...

With not being able to park on the correct side, where the cliffs are located, you have to illegally walk down the freeway, trespass the fence, or jaywalk the freeway...which can all result in a large fine and NO cliff jumping.

So I havent been in awhile, probably two years, but I would love to know the truth and whether or not you can still hit that spot up...

Echo used to be a killer spot before the no parking signs and cops, and besides a bunch of under age idiots drinking and nasty ass ho country bitches, haha, it was a really good spot. and whats with the littering in utah? mother fuckers!

Bottom line tho...lake powell and down south is the best for cliff jumping in utah, by a long shot! and if you have a boat or jet ski its like cliff jumping heaven at lake powell. anywhere from 1 foot to 100 foot cliffs all over the damn place, some with incredibly easy access, some with waterfalls, pretty much kick ass...

I'm not sure we've had enough snow in two years to make cliff jumping in the Wasatch a very safe endeavor...

Thanks dude, I just moved from Pennsylvania with some prime cliff jumping to SLC a year ago and miss it so much. I actually just went to down to Powell a month ago with a bunch of friends and did some cliff jumping there, just wish there was something near SLC.

Causey reservoir is really fun right now. It's a solid hour+ from SLC but worth the trip for couple hours of drinking and hanging.

Bring some beat up tennis shoes for jumping as well, climbing up and down gets gnar without them.

Went up to Causey a few times this summer, and recommend it to anyone who wants to go cliff jumping in utah. Really fun spot with 50 foot cliffs that are easy to get to. I also went up to Lake Mary (on top of Brighton) and found a spot to jump. Pretty sketchy but if your confident in your abilities go for it. Here's of me jumping it:
