Cliff Jumping Spots?

Hey guys,

I'm in switzerland at the moment and just did some cliff diving into rock pools. It is super fun. Anyone know of any good spots to jump around wisconsin/minnesota? The one I did was 30 feet and felt pretty easy but I don't mean to go crazy yet. I live in Madison and go to school in Minneapolis so any areas fairly close to those would be especially great.

Thanks guys!

red granite quarry is 2 hours away from madison and is pretty fun, but the biggest cliff there is only like 20 feet. but the tops of all the cliffs are flat since it used to be a quarry so its easy to get a running start and throw gainers and stuff. Also since it was a quarry there isn't anything hidden under water that you need to watch out for, the cliffs drop straight down mostly except for a few spots where you need to jump out only like 5 feet max.
I think there is a spot on Mendota too. There is also an old quarry down by racine that you can jump.
The biggest spot I know of is in the dells. it's on private property though. I measured it at 35 feet.

st croix has gotten so dumb lately i worked no river last year and it was great so far they had a orange fence on the 4 famous cliffs idk if its still up

I filmed an edit of cliff jumping last weekend, I'll post it when I'm done. Haakon when we were on our school trip they took us cliff jumping on Stockton Island on a this HUGE (sarcasm) 4 footer.

What about the spot by Red Granite (Lohrville, I think) that was part of an old quarry? You had to jump the fence but it was anywhere from 40-65 feet. I remember the 65 footer being a little dicey as you had to really run at it and shoes were a must! This was probably 10 years ago.

thanks for all the ideas guys. let me know if any of you guys are going anywhere around minneapolis/madison and maybe i'll come join.

Here was the edit I was talking about. Nothing special but it was a fun day for sure. Sorry if some shots are shaky, I just had hand surgery.

Yep, search youtube and you will find a bunch of vids or people jumping at a racine quarry. Id definitly that it is a HUGE bust factor there.

anyone ever gotten ticket at the st cloud quarry spots? they look legit, and if so how frequently do they give out tickets and how much are the for? etc...

Havn't been there in a few years but They don't care if you jump as long as you pay to park (its like 6 bucks or somthin)- last time I was there there were a bunch of rangers with a cop going around Checking ID's for people drinking but they could care less about the cliffs- nothing big but super legit running takeoffs and no rock outcroppings and its like 100ft deep so nothing below the water to worry about

Lots of spots around duluth:

Superior lighthouse

Ice House in canal park

Lester River, (the deeps, trainbidge has a 40 footer, gundes, and if you just wanna swim shallows is nice)

Jay Cook (has a 60 foot bridge and you can climb to the top making it 88 i think, also lots of other jumps there)

And 42nd ave on lake superior, theres only one jump and its 10 feet.

it's deceiving as with most cliffs. I made a little device to measure how tall cliffs are for jumping. I took a string and wrapped it around a piece of wood and put a black mark on the string every 5 feet and tied an old bearing onto it for a weight. The cliff pictured was 37 feet to be exact. And incase anyone was wondering for a size comparison, I'm the one in the picture and I'm 5'9".

Hey so tomorrow I'll be by Lake Byllesby and Cannon Falls. I was wondering how I would go about getting to the cliffs people have mentioned. Thanks

I'll be heading up to the quarry in the next few days. On the map, there are a lot of little bodies of water. Once I get there, how do I find the one with the good jumping? Is it obvious?

Definitely hit up the cliffs BCL has pictured, sick spot and not too sketchy. There's a place in Baraboo called Pewit's Nest, it's such a nice spot to chill, kinda sketchy to jump because the water where you land is small and rocky.

That's what I was hearing from people but if I don't see any and if people don't get there pantees in a bunch i'll have to try it.

Bump. Closest places to milwaukee? Place in order of distance and how big it is. Realy want to get some dives in

i remember a thread a while back with a video of cliff/bridge jumping in minnesota around duluth.. it was so cool.. anyone remember this one? i looked for it but couldnt find it

red granite is all i know of. place is fun tho. Theres always a bunch of people. good times

this.

down on the lower dells there are some massive ones.

not sure if this picture is the same spot, but we did one that might have been bigger than this.

Yellowstone Lake near Platteville Wi has a 25 footer that you can climb back up pretty quickly.. cliff hot laps. Presque Isle Park in Marquette Michigan has a 20 footer into Lake Superior
