I only made this thread because almost everyone I know seems to be on his dick and they can't stop talking about his concert in a couple of weeks. I can't whinge about him in front of them so I'm doing it on NS instead.

one of the best live artists/douche bags of the decade. the only thing i can stand about him is his music. check out his live album where the light is from 2007. so sick.

see i used to feel this way too, but as a dedicated fantasy factory watcher, i watched the episode with him and actually laughed my ass off, so he ended up being an alright guy ( however if rob likes you then youre ok in my book, so i think im biased), he just makes shitty music which gets him in girls vaginas, if you could write a song that allowed you to enter the vagina of a female, you would, dont act like you wouldn't.
 
He had an interview in a fairly recent Rolling Stone and he sounds pretty damn funny, and like someone who I would want to hang out with. Not a huge fan of his music though...
 
mayer would be much better if he played electric blues. he can really shred on guitar if he wants to. too bad he'd rather write pussy love songs for 13 year old girls.
 
john mayer is definitely not a douche in any way. one of the most down to earth, talented, nicest people in the industry.
 
I get why you'd react against thousands of sexy bitches saying they love his music. It's like how guys will say they HATE the Notebook even though it's a good movie. You should trying being an individual rather than follower and actually realize he's a talented dude who's been influenced by some of the greatest Blues artists of all time and has been playing guitar since he was like 12.

actually he has lots of different aspects of song writing, but the pussy love songs are the ones that sell. in 2005, he worked with artists like BB King and Eric Clapton. Then he made the John Mayer Trio and moved his musical writings into contemporary rock with jazz and blues influences. You would enjoy the John Mayer Trio segment in his Where The Light Is concert
 
John Mayer has openly said he makes the music he makes becuase it sells. Its not him being serious. The John Mayer Trio is his serious project and they kick ass. Even if you dont like the music you need to respect his skills as a musician because he is filthy at guitar.
 
I appreciate he is an extremely talented musician, one of the best no doubt.
But that doesn't stop me hating his dreary sounding songs.
Obviously its subjective, so don't bother arguing with me that his music is good. If you think it is, awesome.
 
he has lots of different styles and influences on his song. not saying you may want to but if you were to look around through his stuff, you may have better luck finding tracks you actually like rather than shit like say or fucking waiting on the world to change
