Classy/Freshest kicks. .

I shouldn't bother making clothes posts... I always forget how many people have strongly held opinions on things they don't know anything about on here. Those are not skate high tops. They're Dries Van Noten sneakers. That is also not me.

Thankfully, that guy will never get your advice. But just so you know, the feedback provided in here is... well, think of it this way. Say you're going to the hill, and some guy you know who skis maybe five or six times a year on his integrated-binding system carving skis were to come up to you and tell you that you should be skiing on X skis and wearing Y outerwear. That is pretty much what you just did.
 
You don't need to "know" anything about clothes to realize that outfit looks bad and you should not wear sneakers with dress clothes. Also, I will reiterate: top button closed with no tie = fucking fail.
 
honestly wearing sneakers with dress pants reminds me of the kids in grade school who thought wearing dress shoes wasn't cool, so they put on sneakers instead

Look, I get that you like obscure, hipster clothing trends, but wearing sneakers with dress pants and buttoning your top button just does NOT look good. Sorry duder.
 
My point, duder, is that it's not about what I like. It's about that I (or in this case, the guy in the picture) know way more than you, and as a result your opinion is basically meaningless here.

We spend more time on clothing forums, clothing websites, watching runway shows, knowing who works on what design team and what they're coming out with next season, than kids on here spend talking about next year's Armada lineup at SIA and who won what stop on the Dew Tour.

Right now you are being the guy who has never watched a ski movie saying he thinks Warren Miller movies are way better than that "Step Productions" crap you showed him because "skiing on rails is stupid".
 
I don't know what you're trying to prove by "knowing more than me" about clothing. If something doesn't look good, I'm not going to pretend it looks any better just because I know it's a popular trend among fashionistas and who makes it. You're like the guy who thinks a rusted out slammed MkII Jetta is the cat's pajamas just because you know a little bit about cars and "stancing" is the popular thing to do these days.
 
My point is that you thinking something "doesn't look good" is fine, wear what you want. The problem you're having is that this is equivalent to a guy who carves on blue runs who thinks skiing on rails is pointless isn't going to jib actually telling park skiers that what they're doing is stupid. Cool man, keep on doing what makes you happy, but don't act like you're in a position to talk down to people who actually care about this shit the way NSers care about skiing.

If you're ignorant about a particular subject you can still have an opinion on it, sure, but don't talk down to people who know more than you do.

Anyway I see no point to continuing this conversation.

The fit of the pants is bad.

But the most important thing: Never ever wear sneakers with dress pants.
 
I have ones very similar to this just a leather brown color. Very comfortable and has a good style with jeans or khaki pants.

Seriously, what is so hard to understand about this? You guys really sound like when there's a news story about some big mountain skier getting buried in an avalanche and a bunch of people from Wisconsin or wherever who have never spent a day in their lives get on the comments and talk about how these "adrenaline jockeys" get what's coming to them for their selfish risk-taking behaviour. Does that kind of thing not annoy the crap out of you? Then stop doing it.

Ugh. I seriously am staying out of these threads from now on. Hurts to read, in exactly the same way I just described.
 
to the average person who desnt spend their lives reading about other guys clothing, the style of dress you are promoting looks fucking stupid. so if youre wearing such expensive clothes for a purpose other than impressing the general masses than go ahead and do that. if you think that buying fancy clothes and wearing them like that is going to impress people, just know that youre wrong. even if it should impress people, it just makes you look like you dont know how to wear normal clothes.
 
I don't read GQ, I hate those men magazines. I have read a lot of books on classical Italian and English tailoring do. And I spent far too much of my time on the Dutch Styleforum.

It's just that fashion isn't stylish, maybe the meaning of the word style is different in Dutch.

And maybe they are more liberal in the U.S.A., one of my Italian friends once got fired for coming to work in a suit with sneakers.

It's one of those things you just shouldn't do when it comes to clothing.
 
Hey does anybody have a recommendation for a good place to these sneakers online? Looking to pick up those sky blue/yellow/black Nike Free Run 2s and every site I click on looks incredibly sketchy. Just want a place I can get them for a decent price without having to worry or be able to use paypal. Thanks!
 
you cant really compare the two. the fashion world is glorified consumerism. skiing at least has some real substance
 
It's more like you are the kid wearing the latest Jiberish drop, you and your informed skier friends know it's the latest drop and it is what's "in" right now.. but to the uninformed observer which happens to be a majority of the population, you just look like a clown.

So do you know the guy in the picture? I bet he really knows a lot! You never even challenged our knowledge of dressing nice, so you cant say that "we dont know anything".

And our "opinion" about the guys pants not fitting, top button with no tie, and sneakers with dress shoes isn't an opinion, its a fact that all of those goes against dressing up.

Get off your high horse.

You shouldn't their men's shoes are sub par and only thrive on brand name.In that price range Santoni, Crockett & Jones, Sutor Mantelassi are miles beyond in terms of construction and quality.

Hell, even Magnanni is way better.
 
I agree they are classy and fresh. but not the classiest or freshest.

right now im really feelin the maroon/burgundy with gum sole balenciaga arenas.

For some of us, walking through mud/wet grass is a daily thing. I don't see why some people wear shoes in this environment.
