Absolute garbage, just some poppy shit. And another group with a V as a U in their name? Great, and their name is "churches" too. They must be so occult and edgy. So dark bro, they really empathize with my 10th grade teenage angst.

By the way, if you didn't notice that entire first track is the same all the way through.

Not to mention that its essentially lo-fi synth pop.

Just some tasteless people cashing in on musical trends, thats all. Move along.

(disclaimer: this post is HIGHLY opinionated)

I've been thinking how perfect mother we share would be for a summer edit. Really stoked that I'm seeing them live this summer in Spain, should be sick!

Yea, and Georges Braque was just cashing in on artistic trends popularized by Picasso. Ruscha was just biting graphic designers. Did you notice that Robert Ryman's "Twin" is just the same brush stroke over and over again?

I get that you don't like it and I'm not arguing that your opinions are wrong, of course that's just a matter of taste. But I think that insisting it's baseless and tasteless in general is a little exaggerated. Music is a form of art, after all.

I personally like it, someone sent me a link to the Mother We Share a while ago, really liked it. Don't like Gun as much as Recover.

Oh, its absolutely exaggerated, I really don't think its that bad. But whenever I see a name that involves a V as a U or something like that it just makes me think of all these witch house ripoffs and raider klan and all this "occvlt"stuff. Really sets a bad precedent for the music. Its just a little annoying seeing what is essentially a combination of a bunch of different trends - lo-fi being one, synth pop being another, and the name being the other. I just don't think there's much art to something like this, but I will be the first to admit that its excellent pop music and great entertainment.

WOW this is really, really good. It reminds me a lot of Grimes but It has a lot more hooks. And you can actually hear her lyrics which I think makes it a lot easier for them to get play.

Random, but I've been kind of hooked on chvrches the past few weeks. They have a really unique sound, I dig it

not going to lie i thought their album was extremely subpar. the only songs that i felt stood out were the mother we share, recover and possibly gun. everything else just seemed meh to me. i dont know.

also i felt like their liver peformance was by no means special, ok but nothing amazing..

here is live performance of theirs -

Good performance i'd say - I like watching them cause It's cool to see how they are playing the song, chopping up her voice and playing it through 16 levels on maschine is cool! i didnt suspect that

but on a real note, check out that crowd... haha totally getting into it!!

By unique do you mean a neon-indian ripoff with the dynamic range of skrillex? Because neither of those things are good.

PSA: You are all being tricked into thinking loud music is good music! Stop listening to this shit and save your ears the trouble.

i don't know that their music is the most technically impressive, but they're definitely a great band and know how to make stuff that's just good listening

I went to see them in april live and I can support that the girl is an absolute babe and for being like 4ft 90 lbs she packs a hell of a set of pipes

also to whatever stoned classical rock fan that was chirping their name, the V was put in to differentiate them in google searches, not to make them extra hipster

This is actually pretty smart, I get super frustrated when searching for bands with names like The Men or Girls. That said I don't think that would be the sole reason they chose it, whatever they say. If all they cared about was coming up first in google searches would have come up with a creative name, rather than spelling a generic one in a cliched manner.

And yes I agree with others that the sound isn't overly unique but it's fun and dancey. Their concert was perfect for a fun night out, but didn't leave much of an impression beyond my having a great time. Which is fine. I don't expect every band to be groundbreaking so I'm okay with their sound. I probably wouldn't pay for the album, but wouldn't think twice about paying to see them play again.

Look up their rad cover of the Game of Thrones intro.
