Im 5'6"

about 135lbs, ill be putting on weight over the winter though.

Current ski: Invaders 171

I ski east coast conditions

Normally about %80-90 park and the rest all mountain/trees

(^this varys because when i go on ski trips to larger mountains im usually with friends who dont ski park so i ride alot of groomers. But when im at home the hills are tiny and shitty so im usually %100 in the park)

I used to want chronics reallly really bad. Then i started reading reviews on blue steeles and it seems everyone on ns who owns them fucking loves them. I hear theyre super poppy, fun, playful, have a low swing weight, butter easily and still charge when you need them too.

They honestly seem like the perfect ski for me. Only problem is i dont like shelling out too much $$ on equipment and right now i have a chance to get cryptos for about $120 and i dont know when i could get a deal on the steeles or if it would even be a good deal.

How do these skis compare in terms of weight, poppyness, durability and swing weight. Those are my main areas of interest. If someone can make comparisons to the invader it would be great since its something i can relate too.

Thanks !

dude relax, it was a legit question on a not so specific statement on your part
anyways, i would say go for the blue steeles. i have them and im almost exactly your size and love them. they are seriously the perfect ski for my kind of riding, but the characteristics of the ski would suit anyones style. rocker is good for butters and not getting hung up, yet the stiffness keeps the ski super poppy and allows it to stomp everything. Really light, really low swing weight, beefy edges, race base, and so on. Not a bad thing about the ski.
however, if you could get a pair of chronics for 120, thats a ridiculous deal and hard to pass up...unless you resell them for more money and use the profit for blue steeles (assuming that the chronics are new)
feel free to pm me if you got any more questions!

i love my blue steeles to death. they're just truly epic skis. if you can figure out a way to finance them it's definitely the way to go. but if money's an issue the chronics are supposed to be pretty bomber as well.

word, thats the thing is im basically sold on the steeles. Symmetrical rockered park ski that poppy and playful yet stable enough to charge when you need to.

Frankly it sound like the perfect park ski (for me) Although i have never ridden a rocker before.

Just makes the ski feel a little shorter. You dont even notice it in my opinion. You just realize that you magically dont get hung up nearly as much and buttering is easier. thats pretty much it
