For those of us who buy stuff for your family!

I am shit out of ideas on what to get my parents this year. So I think if everyone just lists things they are thinking about or have bought for their parents in the past this will help me, and many others on ideas as to what to get their parents!

I'm watching SAC regularly. My dad is big into the outdoors so hopefully something cool comes up, I'll probably try and snag a cheap jacket for my mom or something.

probably a crocheted hat for my mom, and then for my dad im not sure probably something related to flying cuz hes a recreational pilot and loves it

you have to kind of pay attention and see what they like to have....i.e. my mom relaly lieks sharp paring knives for the kitchen. stainless steel travel mugs, leather driving gloves and interesting colored yarn for crocheting/knitting. Also gift certificates for a fancy restaurant that parents like is always a good idea, because it gives them an excuse to go out. Parents also tend to like when they give you stuff you make yourself.....i.e. ceramics or soemthing you did at school. My dad really likes cool hats, with stripes and fluorescent colors and stuff. Calendars are a good idea too for both parents, or tatseful clothing acessories like scarves and stuff. sometimes parents like seeds for flowers/veggies for a garden. if you don't want to spend money you can make them a certificate that they can cash in for a service...i.e. washing dishes, fetching firewood, vacuuming the floor, cleaning the sink in the bathroom. CDs are a good idea too, if you really know what your parents wnat to listen to.

Home-brewing kit for dad along with a carved trout to hang on the door of his new office. For mom, a winter hat and a cook-book holder thing (she asked for me, so I gota get it).

My dad really likes to watch hockey games but hes out of town lots so he can really plan to buy tickets ahead of time so we bought him lika a 100$ gift card for ticketmaster. Also for my mom we usually buy her tickets to the theatre or dinner theatre.

for most of my life i've never gotten my parents anything big for christmas or birthdays, but once i'm out of school i'm going to send them on a cruise.

for my dad i think im getting him one of those digital picture frames where u can pluug a memery card into.

and for my mom im just buying a bunch of stuff from this store that she loves that sells like bath stuff and all that random stuff

lol i got my sister one of them last year lol (for a joke) but um i would do something like getting a pic off your parents from a while ago and getting it copied and framed or something cheesy like that it would be good for a mom atleast

warren miller movie for my dad. and for my mom.....i'm still thinking about it, but if i can't think of anything i'll use my safety net i've always used concerning gifts for her: yankee candle shop.

Instead of buying a candle make one. Damn I peaked gift wise when I was 13 or so. I'll never be able to top that year.

I bought seasons 1 and 2 of Northern Exposure for my mom, we were at the store, and she notices it and says "That was a really good show, it was my favorite. I think you'd like it too."

if you go to college, just get them a hoodie or a hat that says the name on it. thats what i'm doing.

that only works your freshman year. It didn't really work for me either since my brother went to the same school so they already had that stuff.

I'm getting the a DVD player this year since somehow they don't have one.

Yeah the thing is I bought her season 1 of Dallas last year...and I don't want to buy her another box set of something this year lol

im probally gonna get my family a present instead of individual gifts, but i was thinking about getting a kayak for camping and what not

dad = penfold's grange.

mum = getting photos of her parents/grandparents/family/etc framed up nice.

Nah I work hard for my money...it just doesn't really mean a whole lot to me....plus it is the season of giving...right?

just look into your parents interests

i usually get father some outerwear or tools for work

and mother i usually get some pottery or indoor decorations

i always do gift certificates. then you don't have to guess, and they'll get what they really want. like my dad is really into outdoor shit so i always hook him up with a gift certif to REI and my mom to whatever store she happens to be into at that time

theres a place near me that personalizes bottles of wine, so i'll get them that, its like a card and booze

i just get like soap shit and shower shit for my mom.

and my dad. well i cant buy scotch...he loves scotch. idk probably wrap a salmon in in newspaper and he would be happy.
