so i got the 2010 volkl walls. and i expected the sides to get beat up but not so quickly. They are chippin pretty fast and its kinda pissing me off cause i payed so much for them. They are sweet other wise. Does anyone else have this problem? Or does anyone know a way to fix these chips or prevent them?

im getting some free ones at the end of the month. i had the 09s and they chipped up quick too but its a pair of skis and its saposed to get chipped up. Didnt bother me to much. However one of the skis lost it camber which is a different story. Hence why im getting this years for free.

A friend of mine got a pair of 09's and they're chipping really fast, but its only topsheet damage, the bases are fine. Maybe its just the way they're made or something.

supposively armada skis chip like crazy..i got ar6s and i lightly "sanded" where the topesheet and sidewall meet so its not such a harsh edge and easy to chip. i only got to ski one day with them so far, but it was a 10 hour day, and i beat the shit out of them just trying to do stupid things and theres practically no chips. just a little dings in the sidewall thats it

i had 09s and they chipped quite a bit, but the performance stayed the same, don't worry about it, happens a lot with sidewall construction skis- already happening to my reno jibs

yeah i have the new walls mine chipped too i just filed and sanded the spot where the sidewall and topsheet meet so that they won't chip has much. If you get deep ones you can always use some epoxy or like super glue to fill it in a bit.

well all skis chip. After the first day on my new disorderlys, the top sheet was chipped up in some places, though not that bad chips it still was annoying. As long as there is no base/edge/sidewall damage or any core shots then you should be fine. Volkl as well as k2 have a pretty good durability history and make very solid skis. Just make sure none of those ships are core shots, which are very bad and can effect your skis performance dramatically because the wood gets damp. Being volkl and especially a high end volkl ski, they should hold up fine. I have only heard good things about the walls, and like I said just keep checking for any real damage to the base edges and sidewall

yeah same thing is happening on mine... just the graphic. it only looks bad because theres white underneath it. i had the 08s for two years and they were sick, and when they chipped it sort of rounded out so it looked fine. but yeah i guess they just put the graphic on different this year though.
