Chile

Havent been in june/july, but I have been in Aug/Sept for the past 2 years, and going snow again this year. The snow is unbelieveable, and there are no lift lineups, and things don't get tracked out by noon, (or like here in whistler, after an hour) but you'll have to put up with older lifts and tbars. I've been to termas de chillan from around aug 10-sept 5 for the last two years and we always seem to get these storm cycles which dump 3+ feet in 2-4 days, and then its bluebird. I've got a photo or two uploaded, but it's well worth it. This past year, we had so much snow the entire top tbar was buried, along with a snow cat for weeks. How often can you say 20+ft dumped over your ski vacation?

i'm from chile, in july and august you have the best skiing here, the best parks are in the mountains next to santiago these are in el colorado, la parva and valle nevado. you have in santiago mostly sunny days because the snow comes mostly in june and then snows a few times in the rest of the winter, but that's like 4 times and you can be sure that after the snowing you will have a perfect day to ski powder. if you go to the south of chile you have more options of backcountry and powder but the wheather is not as good as santiago you can have one week with only rain and snow and after that you can't be sure that you are going to get sun. but the good thing is that in pucon and termas de chillan(south of chile) is very nice because you have more trees and nature around than in santiago that is just the mountain with the lifts. any way wherever you go yo will have a good time just come like in july august, mainly august, and if you have any questions just let me know.

^ yea he knows, ive been reading up on it becuz im takin a trip there in july or august not sure what mtn though...im looking for some sick BC

hey guys if you want good prices or some moves to come to chile here you have it am from chile so !!!! just ask !!!!

I've been living in Chile since the end of last July. I went skiing as soon as I got here at Valle Nevado and was very impressed. The park was better than a lot of the ones I've ridden in Europe. If you're lucky enough to get a big snowfall just before you get here or whilst you're here you will probably have some of the best BC skiing of your life.

I would offer to show you around but sadly am heading back to England the week before you get here.

Enjoy.

argentina is WAY cheaper and the people are nicer. Las Lenas is the bomb. If you want pics of what the terrain is like take a look in my profile.

ya, the bc in las lenas is unbelievable. went there for a fortnight two years ago. awesome! my gut feeling would be to go to either las lenas, portillo or valle nevado. these are the bigget i think and most well established resorts.
