Chicken came before the egg, scientific proof

finally someone gets on top of this. it was a really heated topic in my town for the past little while....i was just about to conduct a study like this myself..

ACTUALLY, sexual reproduction (sperm and egg) evolved millions of years ago, long before the chicken was around.
Also, if you count that birds evolved from dinosaurs and dinos layed eggs, the egg still came way before the chicken.

but the chicken egg did not come before the chicken, which is what they're talking about.
 
but wouldn't there have to be a chicken egg for a chicken to come outta it? or did a chicken pop out of a dino egg one day?
 
This. The egg clearly came first. Where the fuck did the chicken come from? You can't tell me it didn't from from an egg. No one said anything about where that said egg had to come form a chicken. There was clearly some sort of mutation/ evolution going on, and the chicken as we know it today, came from the egg of its predecessor. That is my theory, because it makes sense and the chicken coming first does not.
 
brilliant and groundbreaking and all, but wouldn't there have to be a chicken to lay that chicken egg? Or did a chicken egg pop out of a dino one day?
 
well the chickens could have evolved from a mammal or something similar, so then after a while they adapt and evolve and end up laying eggs - therefore the chicken came before the egg. but hey, it's just a theory, my guess is as good as yours as to what happened hundreds of thousands of years ago.
 
I have never heard of a dumber group of scientists. The egg came from the chicken which came from another egg which came from a chicken, which came from an egg........(a few million generations earlier).......... which came from a bird that was kinda like a chicken, which came from an egg that is kinda like a chicken egg, which came from a bird that was a little less like a chicken............. which came from a dinosaur egg.............. which came from some weird fucking bug............. which came from some organism that decided that 1 cell wasn't enough......... which came from the first unicellular organism which came from some protein that started self replicating.

You don't need to blow a ton of money on a supercomputer, you just need a 7th grade understanding of logic and evolution.

the egg came before the chicken

a chicken has to be hatched from an egg but an egg does not have to be produced by a chicken. the chicken evolved slowly from some other bird into the chicken we know today. whenever one chooses to classify a newly hatched bird as a chicken it hatched from an egg however that egg was laid by the previous bird.
