So I recently started colaborating with a little company called first class. They do rap producing and videos. I am now fully in charge of the video part. This is our first video. this is not a full on videoclip, its an option that we give clients where you pay only 200 and get a simple video.

note this only took 1 hour of shooting and 4 of editing.

tell me what you guys think!

 
pretty good video man! only thing is that i've seen that formula for a rap video soooo many times in like the last two weeks. static camera angle+walking camera angle+shot of the guy smoking weed=rap video. it was well done, but you guys should try to be less generic. i know it's only supposed to be a simple video, but still.

then again, idk if you can really expect something not generic from a company that is essentially a rap version of the company that made rebecca black's video.

that said, the video was still very well done. good shots, good colors, good flow. even though the song was shitty i was still entertained by the video.
 
hahaha thanks for the input, I know what your saying for sure and I completely agree.

This is the smallest package available for artists. basically we leave it mostly up to them.

this kid was intense too. He had me re export and import just to include a shot of his kicks! took me 5 hours to fix one shot!

I definately want to step out of the generic and this will happen but only at a better price. our basic package offers generic but gives you the chance to look fly. For more money Ive got plenty of shit brewing!

thanks for the input and for toughing through the song! I think most people are not liking the song or something and assume I had something to do with it.
 
haha damn id be kinda pissed if i had to go through all that work to include a shot of shoes.
but yea i feel that, id like to see what you guys do with bigger clients once you make one of those videos. are most of your clients trying to make it as rappers? or just doing it for fun?
 
that guy is not quite dark enough to be using "nigga" in his music. good vid though

The guys a fucking clown though hating on all the other rappers. He should look in the mirror,guy looks like a fool with his pants on the ground
 
it depends, most of them do but were probably going to get a few just for fun.

that recut pissed me off, he never told me anything about that when we shot and now its a huge deal that it wasnt in it so I had to re cut. took me 2 minutes of work but 5 of exporting and importing.

Im glad to see you guys liked the quality though! I do agree about the nigger bombs in there, thats what we were saying also but hey, the kid is in charge of his words, we just do the video!
 
Like i told will, this is our most basic package and only offers basic. Also the artists often only want cliche. Its a wierd clientel. I am definately looking to go above the norm but with thebapropriate clent and price.
 
Bump for my new videoclip! this one im actualy proud of the look. This is actualy our artist on the record label so the song will be more enjoyable. Same simplicity nothing too advanced, concept wise, but this guy can rap.

 
very dope man. pretty standard shots again but the way the guy rapped and the way it was cut made it feel very unique.

one thing that bugged me was the color film burn on b&w shots. the idea of film burn is to kind of give the illusion that you're looking at film, but a color burn on b&w film would never happen.
 
yah I wasnt sure about the film burn myself for that reason. But the way I saw it was: our market is people who just see a fresh video and know nothing other than it looks fresh. 95% of our market will not notice idosyncracies (wow sorry im french, I tried) like that.

on the simplicity end, again we go for basic simple no concept. These are freestyles they write in a studio to a popular beat so theres not too much focus on concept in the video either. Its what I call quick and durty!

I cant wait to get a real videoclip with a concept done so I can show you guys! I have a few in mind!

and yea i didn't mean to criticize when i said standard shots; i was just agreeing with the fact that you said it was simple. nothing negative intended.

I'm really digging these! That sounds like such a sick interesting job you have and the second rapper is actually pretty sick. Good job all around!
 
Can you make film burn black and white? That'd be pretty cool actually. Nice clips though man! Great job.

its not my fav thus far...

two reasons: 1:it was the second videoclip we shot in one day and 2: He wanted me to go too over the top with effects. I saved myself from putting some of the worse ones but there are still some Im not a huge fan of.

However I love the effect I did at 1:14 and a bit further the same shot. where the background moves in and out subtly.
