Lol 6 months ago maybe. Rip.

I don't think you get super raped if you buy online weeks in advance since you get the prepay discount and 3 day one.

But you know that if you showed up 3 days in a row and bought 3 lift tickets and it was a weekend you'd be looking at $800 bucks right? What do you expect to pay?

Nothing is cheap in Tahoe if you don't have a season pass that place is the absolute worst for buying day tickets 3 days at Boreal is probably 400.

Lots of good mountains around tahoe. Everything is getting more pricey but if you're going with the family might be better to check out elsewhere. Squaw gets pretty crowded anyway. Everything should have good snow this year.

Depends a lot on ability level and want you want to ski but there are some gems that off some quality skiing without killing youre budget as hard. Could even go to a couple different places. Unfortunately day tickets at the megas are absolutely insane these days.

Looks like Mt Rose does two for tuesdays once a month. 2 adult tickets for $155. Mt Rose is sick. Adult full day is $125 which is steep but not nearly compared to other places. child ticket goes up to 15 and is $65

Diamond peak is pretty similar $130 adult, $110 kid.

Idk. Lift tickets are spendy. I'd recommend homewood but I think they went private recently.

Sierra is about the same. 110-130. They have a 3 pack that's about $87 a day.

Idk. Pallisades wants 230-270 for an adult ticket. For a single day.

Do what you want but honestly place isn't that great. It's cool, but it gets crowded and imo are you really going to take advantage of anything with the fam that's worth an extra $140 a day? Prolly not.

Sucks cause I worked for Vail for years and I could have given you a stack of 50% off tickets. They're pretty much useless to us and I just gave them to friends for free mtn biking in the summer. Maybe hit up the FB groups and look for some of those and do a day at kirkwood. That has terrain that rivals anything Squaw has and a better vibe imo. Heavenly sucks but is pretty cool with a fam. Great views of the lake.

Really depends what you want to do. You can do a 4 pack at squaw and save some $$$ but then you're sking 4 days and it's still spendy. 140-150 a lift ticket.

Idk, do what you're gonna do but my advise is def look around. Plenty of good skiing in Tahoe. It's early in spring, but still heading into that time. Comps become more available. I def would not pay full price ever for squaw, not even on a legendary pow day. But if that's where your heart is then send it. Kirkwood is on epic so going to see similar bad deals probably but might be able to scoop some of those 50% tickets. Terrain there is top notch. As gnar as anything you want to hit at a ski resort with a nice mix of stuff for everyone.

Huge thanks mate. I wasn't super sold on palisades either but the family is pretty set on it so was hoping I could at least find them some better deals than just buying tickets straight up for a million dollars. 50% off would have been wicked but without it I might have to convince them to hit some of the other mountains.

I mean, if they're set maybe do 1 day there, milk every crumb out of that day, first chair last chair. Then do the other days elsewhere. It's fun hitting different mountains honestly. They probably haven't heard of all the mountains in Tahoe but there are some good ones there.

Try truckee tahoe people facebook or maybe craigslist and see if you can find anything. Like I said I was always willing to give those 50% off to VR away. Random but idk if anyone in your family has a birthday while you'll be there. Diamond Peak does free skiing on your birthday.

If you can get a 50% off and get to kirkwood that would be sick. I think it has as good of terrain and a lot less people. I don't think your family would be bummed. a little bit of a drive though but well worth it. I've driven from kings beach and back several times.

The lift ticket prices these days are bullshit honestly. It's a damn shame. Hope you're able to figure something out and not spend too much. But regardless hope it's an awesome trip for the fam!

Really? Can you elaborate? Genuinely curious

Same question for Mt rose as you called it "sick" in your reply.

Like how is their terrain better than Olympic Valley?
