Cheapest and Closest Place to Camp near Timberline

I know its still a little out of season for camping, but I'm planning my trip to hood for this June and i'm curious as to where the most recommended place to camp would be. I don't need hookups or anything, just a square of land where I can plop a tent. And also just a side question, are there any multi-day tickets available for Timberline in the summer? Or are you stuck just paying for the daily ticket price?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

My friends go camping like only barely even 400 yards away from the lodge. I don't know exactly where but I will find out.

Little known fact is that you can camp in the main lot around the edges, I'm not sure how they are about extended periods of time though and would definitely have a backup plan if they ask you to leave.

Alternatively you can camp at the airstrip and be with a bunch of other dirty ski bums, free to camp but its a good idea to move around every couple weeks.

There is an actual campground on Timberline road called ;alpine. Its only 1 mile down from the lodge. If the snow is gone, it's a great place to camp-- but it gets uber cold even in the summertime. I would camp in white river canyon, less cold, less wind. Driving about 9 miles from Tline.
