Cheap yet good eats

Here's the deal, im going on a trip which cost me alot, its 4 days 3 nights.

This trip does not include food, i really really want to avoid spending extra money on food. The hotel rooms ( as far as i know ) do not have fridges.

Basically im going to try and bring as much non-perishable( spelling ?) food as i can to avoid spending that much money.

Theres going to be alot of drinking on the trip so i dont want to have an empty stomach or else some nights wont end up so good.

I cant live of dry foods and i know the words cheap and good dont really go together when talking about food but what are some options other than mcdicks. Im just trying to make an already unhealthy trip some what more healthy.

I know theres a shit load of broke college students and ski bums here on NS so give me some good advice when surviving with out spending that much money.

KEEP IN MIND I DONT HAVE A FRIDGE OR STOVE OR MICROWAVE OR ANY OF THAT SORT OF THING

just a normal hotel room

granola bars and pb&j sandwhiches. maybe get some fruit that would last the trip too like a bunch of bannanas and a box of clementines or something.

do you, your family or a friend have a camping stove, cause the options are crazy if thats in the picture

thats a great idea actually, would that be allowed in a hotel room?

and yea so far it looks like im living of PB& J, i need someway to get the other food groups into my system though haha,

also the trip is going to Quebec City so if anyone knows any good places to get some foodfor cheap, let me know!

Yeah, peanut butter, jelly if you like that, marshmallow fluff, rice cakes, cheap beef jerky, crackers, some ez-cheese (it looks nasty, but if you want cheap and non-perishable cheese, go for it.) be creative

im pretty sure the hotel wouldn't give a shit, and if they did, hide it in your suit case
also, if you really gotta the dollar menu exists

get some reynolds wrap and the blowdryer from the hotel bathroom and heat that shit up for like half an hour then you can cook shit up on it, yo.

this^

so far list of most likely items....

Oatmeal

Mr noodles

Crackers

Clementines

PB & J

that should pretty much do me to be honest, imon to look into a camping stove but i may just bring a pot and boil water in the cofee maker which opens a bunch of doors.

i dunno if they sell them in alot of stores but if you can get your hands on some pilot biscuts, you are all set. get tuna, mayo, pb+j, and 1 or 2 boxes of pilot biscuts, you honestly have enough food to last the entire time and then some.

they are called pilot biscuts because they used to give them to pilots flying multiple day trips, because if you eat a couple and drink some water they expand in your stomach and fill you the fuck up.

No, actually what makes you fucking dumb is the fact you didn't think to just put the ramen in a bowl, turn on the sink with hot tap water till it's as hot as it goes, fill the bowl with water and let it sit for 5 minutes. That's what makes you fucking dumb, kid.

peanut butter and fluff (marshmallow cream stuff its great) on bread. or you can eat oatmeal if you have a sink just get the water hot and put the oatmeal in then cover and it will be good

Well first of all i dont know what ramen noodles are, i know what mr noodles are and other things where you just boil the water and pour it in. Secondly, i was always under the impression that you have to boil them and im not sure if the hot water would work.

When I hiked the appalachian trail I used to eat oatmeal all the time by just pouring cold water in the pouch and stirring it around. It tastes pretty good to a hungry hiker.

Basically you can take any food that you would take on a backpacking trip. Sharp cheese stays good for a week at least, it might get a bit greasy if its hot, but if you're in canada I doubt it twill be hot. Put it next to the window and it will stay cold.

Take a trip to the grocery store and see what strikes your fancy.

you do have a refridgerator... the outside ! and bring apples man. apples kick ass. you can eat ramen dry in a pinch, tastes sorta like motza if i remember correctly. sandwiches are key. make bisquits before you leave and bring a bunch.

sams club will get you something like a case of 30 poptarts for around $6.

pretty sure thats the only food you will need to eat for a couple of days. Nature Valley bars and Cliff Bars are bomb too.

Its called a spam musubi ... everyone in Hawaii eat them all the time ... just ask some one who has lived there for years... there the shit... they taste awesome. What you do it take so spam but it inot a quart -1/3 of an inch slices and then put it on a pan and cook the spam... then take some rice and wrap the two ingredients together... goggle them... there so awesome... i hate spam but these taste awesome

Yeah spaghetti-os are the shit and maybe im just weird but i prefer them cold. And if you cant bring the camping stove with you the hot water in most hotels will usually do the trick for cooking cup-o-noodles

thanks alot everyone, i can always come to NS for some good advice on shit like this.

Whoever was the first person to mention boiling water in the cofee pot, that was great idea. I would have never thought of that. And to others posting, keep in mind i live in canada so stuff you may have in hawaii probably isnt sold in local grocery stores.

Also whoever said to bring what you would on a hiking trip, thats also true, ill just search hiking food on google and im sure ill get some good ideas.

I think i already have enough to suffice for 4 days though.

if you have a plug-in kettle, bring that.

thats what my bro uses in residence and there are tonnes of food you can make with just boiling water... like oatmeal, ramen, soup, etc

i'm thinkin if you boil water in the coffee maker, whatever you make will have a hint of coffee to it. but if thats your thing, then whatever. i know you can buy cheap ass appliances at wal-mart though, they're just the lowest quality ones they have.
