Cheap Skins on Ebay Any Good?

So wait, they strap to your skis? Um, pass. Also, look how narrow they are in the pictures. There's definitely a reason the seller doesn't mention the width.

Normally I'd say you can't go wrong for that price, but in this case I'll make an exception. There's just no way those aren't garbage.

A skin should fit the ski perfectly, so I wouldn't buy these. I assume you got a fat powder ski so they won't fit. And I'm not sure if nylon skins are great for touring. Just spend some money on good skins and you'll have more fun.

Most skins are made of nylon but some are mohair. I would recommend spending a little more money and get a quality pair of black diamond or g3 skins.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA holy shit those are the worst things I've ever seen.

I want a glimpse into the life of whoever made those.

doesn't need to cover the whole ski. it helps on the steeps but not entirely necessary (especially with tail rocker). mine don't cover the last 8 cm of tail and no issues. But there are a few different tail attachments and some do matter.

if you want to go cheap you might be better with a pair of used skins and buy a tube of glue or check outdoor gear exchange for blems. awesome ebay finds though

I would never buy used skins. Take the hit and buy brand new G3 Alpinist skis. Best all around skin for the money. Yes your gonna spend around $150, but you won't be complaining once your on the skin track and able to keep up with your buddies....

I suppose you get what you pay for. Personally I would rather have 1 pair of BD skins that I can cut to fit my skis for $100-120 than 5 pairs of those. If being cheap (that's different than finding a good deal on reputable gear) is what you want, than be prepared for a lot of hassle on the skin track.
