Cheap Eats

Spaghetti, throw some pork, sausage and meatballs in the sauce, adds a bunch of flavor to your average spaghetti dish

multi cheese grilled cheese

I’m lazy so eggs and bacon is my go to meal .But I make that shit fancy. I add shredded cheese, chopped ham ,sautéed peppers and onions , guacamole ,and hot sauce to the eggs. I eat a large portion for breakfast and I’m set for the day.

Burritos are a pretty good go to. Lots of options and you can make that shit pretty dank.

I'm trying to figure out how to make meat pies at some point but haven't had time to give it a whirl yet.

Like borty said...burritos of any type are cheap and filling. But a solid bet is Mac and cheese and and meat...hot dogs...or lunch meat etc...then quina or rice and meat and veggies is cheap. And a solid super cheap betbis getting the massive bag of cheese and tortillas and maybe some meat to make quesadillas

Cheese is bank, especially the pre-shredded kind. Grating cheese is not very much work.

If we're talking extended periods of poverty buy a big sack of brown rice and a sack of beans, kidney, pinto, red, black whatever you like. Cook a big batch of both and reheat through the week, stir in or top with whatever you have, sauteed veg, fried egg, cheese using the rice and beans as your base. It's filling and extremely cheap.

fried rice is easy, just buy a big sack of white rice, and toss in whatever veggies/meats you want with some oil

can even skeef some soy sauce from sushi restaurants for free

Be like tony saprano and eat nothing but italian deli meats.

"Where's the fuckin GABAGOOL?!?!"

Pierogi's were always my go-to. Shred some cheese on top and sprinkle on some sriracha and you're rolling.

Chick peas, rice, coconut milk, and some spices and other veggies get you going on a pretty decent curry. Mad cheap and filling too

This ain't no home-cookin' but the beefy fritos burrito at Taco Bell hits. $1 for 550+ cals. Granted, not super healthy by any means. Nice thing for my vegetarian ass is I can get it with refried beans vs. beef. Smacks

Get a crock pot. Heres my shitty chili recipe.

3lbs ground beef

30oz canned tomato soup

can of beans

cup of water/milk

onion

chili powder

whatever else I’m feeling

cook the beef, and dump everything in the crock pot, run it on high for 6hrs or so

its ski season and im lazy and dont like to cook either so its mostly meal prep for the week and stuff.

Crockpots with pulled-pork are the fucking shit and provide food for like a week plus you can make stews and stuff too that are killer for the colder months

There's a taco bell in town but I think Ive only been 3 times because there are at least 4 other ridiculously dank mexican joints around it with good prices. 2 within 100 yards of the tbell

It's pretty easy and cheap to make hummus, because the bulk of it is chick peas which are pretty cheap.

You need tahini, chick peas, garlic and olive oil plus you can add whatever other ingredients you want like jalapenos or olives to change the flavor.

I like making burritos, super versatile and they are just as good no matter what kind of meat or veggies you use. Pan fry some onions and garlic in oil, then add black pepper, salt, chili powder, cumin and cayenne pepper until you like the colour, then add black beans or whatever kind of meat you have until it's cooked. For fish (I like haddock for this) I find it's better to coat the fillets in oil and the aforementioned spices, then fry it. Then pile on some fresh veggies and pico de gallo in a wrap.

Roast chicken is always good, if you're going to spend a few hours at home anyway. I always stuff it with bread crumbs cooked in any combination of savory, thyme, sage and parsley with onions and celery and minced apple and/or raisins. It's nice to glaze it with olive oil, honey, salt and pepper. Just remember to baste it, and you can add a little white wine or lager as you're doing that. Then you can use the carcass and bones to make chicken soup. Mashed potatoes are super easy and delicious too. Just cut the potatoes into 1" chunks and boil them, then mash in some sour cream, butter and green onion. If you choose potatoes with a really thin skin like fingerlings or some red potatoes you don't even have to peel them first.

Not exactly cheap but damn that sounds good probably my favorite way to fix potatoes is cut bacon in 3/4" pieces and put a few in nonstick frying pan and grate potatoes, rinse well , squeeze out all the water ,sprinkle over the bacon, put a few pieces bacon on top cook till golden, flip, cook till golden, slide on plate, salt and enjoy my crispy bacon browns, delish

The bacon browns sound decadent, crisp is the way to go!

The thing about the chicken is it's initially not cheap but it goes a long way if you make soup out of it when you're done cutting the meat off. And usually you can get 3-4 sandwiches out of the meat after the initial feast.

Damn. There is a muchas gracias best the Taco Bell but it is a solid $5 more. I eat there when I’m feeling fancy lol

every week i buy a pack of 3 chicken breasts. i poach them all at once in boiling water, and then i shred and bag them before putting them in the freezer.

then throughout the week i thaw each bag of chicken and use it to make one of the following:

chicken with broth, corn, beans and rice pilaf

chicken with fettuccine pasta and pesto sauce

chicken with penne pasta and alfredo sauce

for the other days:

salmon with yakisoba and rice

packaged tortellini with marinara

chicken parm (i leave one breast unshredded if i'm planning on this)

seattle is pretty expensive but if i'm smart about rationing leftovers i can keep my food budget low

mufuckin uhhh spam sandwich. buy a can of spam, hawaiian rolls, cheese, mayo and pickles. fry the spam and put everything on the rolls. trailer park delicacy 10/10

mcdonalds mcdouble and mcchicken slap em together, got yourself a McGangbang

Now with the 24hr breakfast you can do that with a hashbrown in the middle, goood stuff

You can do “hobo dinners” in the oven super cheap and easy. Chop up veggies and toss them together with some olive oil, salt and pepper, and throw in a cut up bratwurst or Italian sausage. Wrap it all up in tinfoil and bake it at 420 (nice) for like 20 or so minutes.

Chop spaghetti squash in half and put some tomato sauce in there, then bake it. Hella tasty and cheap.

Curry pretty easy to do as well. Kinda like making a stir fry, just need a simmer sauce. Trader Joe’s sells a good one that isn’t expensive. You can also get bags of precooked rice there to eat along with it.

Trader Joe’s also sells pizza dough for cheap, and pizza is way easy to make if the dough is already done.
