I currently ski salomon lords all over the mountain but am thinking for getting the on3p fr as a park ski (and a bit of all mountain) 85/15% and will obviously get it center mounted. I have never skied on a ski center mounted and was wondering how diffetent it is.

Hope some people can help me, just want to know wat im getting myself in for...

its more playfull for me, but the first time i had my skis center mounted i failed at skiing for the first 2 days.

spinning, rails etc will be easier tough

Skiing switch is a lot easier on a center mounted ski. But since you are getting a whole new pair of skis, the changes will be a result of a totally different ski more then where its mounted.

instead of making a new thread thought i might just chuck it here, wat binding for on3p fr? how would a schizo binding go or would it be silly as they r symmetrical. + k to all that helped (sorry for typos, on my phone)

Definitely a different feeling. It's slightly harder to make an aggressive turn while keeping you speed but definitely a lot more playful and fun imo. If you do park at all, definitely go with the centered because it makes your balance a lot more stable on rails and jumps.

not a schitzo binding. i can see why you would want them on a pair of say, kung fujas, where there are times when you would want them back for more all mountain, and there are times you want them in the park. but for a symmeterical park ski, just mount center. if you go back it will ski weird because its not in the middle of the sidecut.

that said, im assuming you arent super old/experienced becaues you are asking for what binding, so im gonna go out on a limb and recommend the look px12. they are a solid 12 din binding that you can get really good deals on

switching to center mounted twin tips didn't really affect my all mountain riding. sometimes while skiing slowly or waiting in the chairlift line my back tips would cross as i wasn't used to having so much ski behind my foot, but that went away in a few days. on the other hand, I became a ton more sturdy on rails, and skiing switch actually works now.

You just have to watch your tips a little more closely while you are still adjusting. They wont be as long so you'll have to watch where you are going. But I love center mount, it feels so much more balanced and riding switch feels so much more comfortable

Center mounting won't necessarily make the ski more playful. The Lord is a direction ski that is not symetrical. All you would really effectively do is end up fighting the sidecut. You would be basically making your all mountain ski underperform

Actually. I'm fucking dumb, disregard the last post.

But the FR is a symetrical ski designed for the kind of mount. If you can ski, then there really shouldn't be too much change.

If you drive the tips, maybe try and ski a little more centered.

I find that I'm not able to soak hard landings as well center mounted. It could just be a technique issue I specifically have, I'm not the greatest park rider. I find that when I'm mounted farther back I can bend at the waist as well as my knees to soak extra impact, whereas center it's purely knees, bending at the waist will make you weighted too far forward.

Just going down the mountain however, doesn't take too long to adjust, day or 2 max, like everyone was saying, and it does make switch riding way nicer.
