Changes in MT. Bogus Basin's park

Mountain events is getting a new coordinator this year who actually knows what he is doing. His name is Corey MacDonald, he trained the team shred kids last year i think, and was park manager for High cascade for 8 years.

Met him the other day surfing and he seems like a solid dude

I thought bogus always had a pretty decent park? Anythings better compared to pebble creeks hahaha. We have some real nice all mtn jib/park stuff but not a lot of strictly park stuff.

people say "Bogus is going to be different this year!" every year, and nothing ever changes. Despite not being much of a park skier anymore I was legitimately interested when they got all that money from Mt Dew and Albertsons for the new park. Unfortunately as some of us already know, they changed the park's location but only put in like 3 new features, and my god the jumpline the last 2 years has been borderline dangerous. the park has never been stellar but at least the old setup had some flow to it. now you hit 2 rails, ski half the ridge, then either cut over and hit maybe 3 more features or stay on the ridge and completely overshoot on every jump

/get off my lawn

I definitely agree that's what everyone's been saying every year and again it has been equally shitty every year. Not to jinx us, but i think things might actually change for us, or at least be better then when JJ ran mountain events

How did you hear about this op? This is great news Corey is good at building parks. He used to run Bogus parks when they first got started

Was down at the river doing some surfing, met him, and then talked to him for about 15 minutes and the direction of Bogus's park

what is his vision? I'll support the hell out of him if I think he might actually change things

Going to bring back this old thread...

I think we can all agree now that Corey did an amazing job on the park this year. We got absolutely no snow but It was the first year, ever, that i've really felt good hitting jumps at bogus. There really was a change that needed to happen, and I think Corey and Preston were exactly what we needed.

(Preston was the builder for little ski hill, and is now assistant builder to corey at bogus)
