Change in Ski Industry

Pretty cool video about how the skate industry has changed in the past 10 years and I feel like there's a ton in here that can be said for skiing as well. Do you think the ski industry has followed a similar timeline with the introduction of social media, or are we a little behind? What's been the most pivotal year for the ski industry?

Changed this aspect of skiing big time, more coaches more fis events less rail jams and local events.

It's cool. Everyone feared the double, the triple, the quad. At the same time as thats been going on there's more sould skiing posts. Ripping fun laps or mellower tricks. It's about the vibes not just the tricks. I think skiing is in a decent place

I think next season is gonna be a huge turning point in comp skiing. now that multiple people have 21s its at a crossroads of either going further down the spin to win route or going more in the direction that Matej and ahall were moving this season with a lot of twisty shit and buttered landings

ik ahall did 21 first but I believe he had said he doesn't want to do it anymore, hence the more styled out smaller rotations

Minor point but the first 21 was Kuura Koivisto 2 or 3 yrs ago

love this food for thought. this is so subjective... in my mind, the 2013-14 season was the year that Dollo took the crown from Wallisch and ran with it, never looking back. in hindsight, I was sleeping on Henrik prior to that season.

I know this isn't really an answer to your question, but...

When some guy decided to give some smelly ski bums chinese-made 100$ skis to go hit urban

this is an extremely racially insensitive way to describe the relationship between volkl and Ahmet/lafa, middle eastern stereotypes like that are very hurtful and he should be able to be bigoted towards other minorities in peace

you might want to re-read that comment my friend, it had nothing to do with volkl (not made in china) or ahmet, no idea where you got the idea that it was racist

I don’t want to be that guy but… the park line for völkl is made in China. It says it on the skis last I checked. Maybe they have changed factories since 2020
