well i've got a chance to buy k2 pontoons from the season 2009-2010, they are in a pretty good condition and have salomonon sth16 bindigs on them. I wouldnt have too much use for them (like 10 pow days a year) but as i would get them for a fairly good price of 320Us$ or 220€ im thinking that is it worth it?

If any of you guys have 'em i would like to hear some reviews and toughts about them.

i haven't skied them, but i know one thing, if i'd find a pair of toons for that price, including sth16s, i'd jump on it !

even just the bindings make it almost worth the money !

+if you get to ski some really deep stuff, i think you'll fall in love with em ! and not to forget; they're a great part of skiing history, so definately a cool ski to add to your quiver !

yeah i tought i could be using them for like the next 5 to 10 years as my main pow ski cause i wouldnt have too much use for them, and if i get a chance to go somewhere with the deep stuff, then i would have a pair for that particular occasion

I was in the same situation a few years ago, I got a brand new set for £90 so could not pass it up. I rode them a few times, there great in deep pow, but you cant ride them switch because of the shape. So if your looking for a deep pow ski, and dont care about doing any freestyle stuff on them, go for it. I would personally get a hellbent over pontoons though. As said above the STH 16's if there in good condition are worth it.

okay, but why would they have the tail rocker if you cant ride em switch? and how are they on hard pack? my friend has a pair of JJ's and i would mostly use these skis with him, meaning we would ski some hard pack too every once in a while,(if it doenst snow for a long time) and i know JJ's are skiable on the hard stuff but wha tabout these?

the ski is in that shape so that the tip will rise in deep pow, the tail is super narrow to sink

tail rocker isnt always for riding switch. the best way to think about it is the hull of a boat. they are shape allot like a reverse camber ski, the front and back of the hull are higher then the middle, this gives the boat stability in the water, however the boat does not sail backwards. its the same for skis. if they are rockered tip and tail the most stable part will be under the bindings. However this does not automatically mean the ski will be awsome switch just because it has a tail rocker.

on hardpack there hard work. they do not have a conventional side cut, and the turn radius is huge, so there not much fun on hardpack. there really built for doing big slasher turns in deep deep pow.

something like a JJ, Rocker 2 or Bentcheler are much better allround skis

Never skied a better powder ski. But if you're looking to ride switch, these arent for you. If you aren't, then thats a great price for a great ski and i'd pick them up.

Okay cool, thanks guys seems like im definately gonna pick em up tomorrow, i can always sell em away with a good price too if i dont like them too much. THANKS
