Chance the Rapper SNL Performance

This past Saturday, Chance the Rapper was the first unsigned/independent artist to EVER perform on SNL. This is quite a considerable event considering it hasn't happened in 41 year and he's also a hip-hop artist. Looking through the various articles being shared on Facebook and different sites I noticed a TON of negative comments.

What are your thoughts on Chance?

What are your thoughts on the performance?

Is his performance only something you liked because you like Chance the Rapper?

Is he catching all these haters because a vast majority of the people who watch SNL are white and 35+?

Chance the Rapper doesn't care if you're a hater, but discuss...
 
I usually ignore that part of the show. Didn't like it, but I'm not a fan of that style hip hop as a whole.
 
I think it would have been better if he did it faster, like the recorded version, but overall it was pretty good. Stoked that Chance got to perform on SNL though.
 
i loved it! especially cuz he just seemed so excited and adorable to be on the show. he was genuinely happy, and you could tell.
 
I love chance in some song, can't stand him in others. He seems two have two different styles. This is the one I like

 
Chance came to my university for our homecoming and the concert was LIT 100! I loved it so much I want to another concert with him later that year and it was absolutely the same thing. Literally same song order, same dance moves, same opening act, same fucking clothes. I didn't like this...But still love his music and love that he is keeping his roots for as long as he can.
 
I absolutely love Chance. 10 Day, Acid Rap, Surf, all great albums/mixtapes. I didn't see the performance, but I usually don't like anything live anyway, no matter who it is. He's doing good things, releasing dope, free music for everybody, and its not like he's putting out bad vibes like Tyler or something. Idk why people hate him so much
 
I saw him at Austin City Limits this year on closing day. He was amped as fuck, genuinely into it, it was hot as balls and he was just making sure everyone was vibing. It was awesome and I didn't even expect him to have the brass with him but was blown away by how that worked. Good shit.
