Hey guys,

I know there are regional forums for this sort of thing but the French one is kind of a graveyard for posts unfortunately. I am going to be in Chamonix next week and if anyone has some input on a place they would recommend renting some skis from and/or a recommended guide or guiding service it would be extremely appreciated. I've got an outerwear kit and boots with me so I'd be looking for some all mountain sticks. Kind of a short notice request so thanks for any help.

Thx in advance.

you can borrow my caylors in exchange for letting me sleep on the floor of whatever swanky ass hotel you rent in cham

I tried typing "bump" on my phone to keep your thread up, but all autocorrect wanted to type was nympho.

Heard that SkiLoc is pretty decent, and for a guide- Andreas Fransson guides in Cham I'm pretty sure. You can contact him through his website but I'm pretty sure he knows the best spots, and has a good knowledge of the mountains so he should keep you safe

Totally threadjacking, but I'm going to Portes du Soleil in Feb. and I also need to know how the rental process works. I hear they have high performance rentals over there so I can borrow some fatter all mountain twins when necessary. Is this true and is it the resort that provides this or a outside company?

Havent been to that exact resort, but many, many european resorts have all kinds of rentable skis, you just gotta ask for the kind of ski you want, you might have to pay more if they consider your ski of choice to be in the "premium category". You can even rent a brand new pair and buy it a discount after renting it in case you really liked it
