Challenge to editors and video guys

I was thinking the other day that I'd love to see an edit of the last decade showing progression. Kind of a then and now theme. Like getting some shots of the beginning of the decade with Shane Szocs on long straight skis doing Misty 7s, Julien R. and others dropping cliffs then showing some Seth in the mid 2000s to some of the modern guys. Then some of the early rails where a 270 on, 270 off was a big deal to the crazy variations of today. Then show how JF won the first big air with a hugely penciled switch 7 to steezy doubles and 12s. Just a thought. Anyone concur?

and i can think of some people that would be not to psyched if you just jacked their footage and chopped it into your own edit

Good idea, but I'm gonna have to agree with Ben.Level 1 (or some other film company that's been at it for a decent amount of time) could pull this off, but they're about the only ones.

i agree with u and while i doubt anybody would ever spend the time to make that edit, i would give them all the karma im able do give if they did...

yeah to add to my post, tack on the amount of time that it would take to do this legit...getting permission from everyone, blah blah blah

dont get me wrong for my comments, id LOVE to see this, i just think logistically it would be very difficult

bump. You know I totally agree that it would be a serious undertaking and 3:00 of footage would take hours of work. I guess I also don't understand the bureaucracy of filming rights, either. Wouldn't it just kind of be free advertising if you used clips of old movies? I do understand using more recent material in terms of the copyright issues, but it would just be a delicious clip to watch.
