Center-mount the AR6 or not?

I have decided to buy the 6's. I don't really know if I should center-mount my bindings or get them -1 to -2cm? Or maybe more?

Do anybody have a solution to this? Anyone that rides the AR6 and got them center-mounted or -2cm?

I only do groomers and park. Not any pow

Thanx for answers!

But why doesn't any of Armadas pro skiiers have them center-mount? Mosth of their athletes got their bindings mounted -1.5 to -2.5

Tanner and Jacob also got them -1.5

Is it something with the 6's that doesn't make them as a ideal "center-mount ski"?

i acually have mine at recommended (5 back i think?) and i think -1, -2 would be good because its really fun to carve all over the mountain on these and the little it back helps that performance a bunch and doesnt sacrifice much in the park but if youre like 80% park id go center

Yeah, I definetly think most of the AR6-riders have their bindings at

-1.5 to -2.5. But why doesn't so many people got them center-mounted?

Is it because they aren't symmetrical, or what?

I think I will get mine at -1.5 to.

Wapile, do u only ride in the park? Or do you ride any groomers too?

i think mounting back helps when jumping and spinning. Your rear binding is heavier than ur front binding so putting it further back actually helps balance the swing weight.

Hm, this doesn't make much sense. If the rear binding is heavier, then it would have been better to mount them some cm in front of true center ;p And that is not a good idea. imo is center-mounting the best way to mount them if you want to spin easy.

how about, you never true-center mount a directional ski ever, because it will ski like shit. i've even heard techs argue that even a symmetrical ski should be set back at least 0.5 from true center,

peace

Sorry for the late reply, but yea, i use them as my all mountain skis, prob about 50-50 in and out of the park. Not the greatest for cruddy snow, but hell, great on everything else.

haha my are center mounted with sth 14's and theyre money...

ski switch great, bomb proof, been banging them around all season for 50 plus days on rails, no edge cracks, just shitty chipping on the topsheet, which i honestly dont give a fuck about.

but if ur 50/50 id go with -1.5 to 2.5

Ahhhhhhh yes! center-mount them at true center for sure. I did the same thing on my AR6s and they're definitely the best park ski I've ever owned. As your inquiry about the reason the pros rock their mountings at like -1 or -2, that's just their preference. To be completely honest, it really doesn't make that big of a difference. Dramatic differences between various types of mountings or differences in mountings on pow skis actually can make a big difference, but when it comes to park riding anything around center will pretty much ski the same. Personally, though, I like the true-centermount for a couple of reasons. First, best possible ride switch. Ya, a few inches don't make that noticable of a difference, but they do make some difference and why not take advantage of that. Secondly, best swing weight. Thirdly, being as far foward on your ski as possible will give you a pretty aggressive stance which is a form of riding that I personally like the best. Finally, who doesn't like the huge-ass tails that centermounting gives you? it looks dope. On another note, centermounting also wont really hurt you on moguls, groomers, packed pow, etc., contrary to popular belief. If you have the ability to shred that terrain, you'll be able to shred it fine and the more aggressive stance actually, imo, makes it more fun.

Also, forgot to mention, that far foward gives the ski the maximum buttering capabilities, which can make riding anywhere, from the park to the moguls, fun. So, do it, tell your shop you want the boot mounted between the ARM and the ADA on the side wall and you will have an awesome ski at true center.

I wen't to the shop yesterday and got them "fixed". I asked hiim to mount them at -1.5. I thnk that will be the best for me, because I ride like 50/50 park and groomers. This was really hard though, because some of you say that I should center-mount and some say that I should mount it -1.5. It is my first twintip ski, and I haven't tried them at center-mount OR -1.5, so I don't really know what is the best for me.

I sent a mail to armadaskis.com though, and Tyson Hall said that I should go for -1.5 to -2.5. So I liscened to him ;)
