Center Mount Bacons

Im an EC skier. Not getting too much pow. take a trip out west every year so will still ski a little powder. I want the lizzies for a playful ski to just play around in the park and on groomers mostly. Should i center mount them. I alos ski alot of bumps and trees.

ha true

but im not using these for all park, this is going to be just a ski to fuck around on groomers and trees or bumps.

if it's not for only park then they will suck at centerrecommended is -6 on bacons despite the fact that line website says it's -2.5i mounted mine at recommended and they felt perfect for doing exactly what you described, but if you like the feel of a ski mounted further forward then you should go like -2.5but remember, because of the early taper the edge engage point is much lower down than on most skis so they feel very short when mounted far forward
but i don't know if you're talking about bacons or lizzies, you said both so far

also fwiw bacons aren't fun in bumps, i skied a whole day of bumps at grouse or w/e on beaver creek and bacons definitely don't excel there, if you want an all mtn bump ski then get something stiff and narrow

i have my bacons mounted at -2 from true center and they kill it. I use them for park/all mtn fucking around and they are a lot of fun. I would mount them a little further back if you are lookinf for all mtn. performance but I keep mine mainly as a fat jib ski and at -2 they are perfect

I have mine at like -2 and they are fine all over the place. In pow the tips dip very slightly in heavy ass snow but it's never been a concern.

why would you do park on bacons? I dont get that. to me its like trying to do offroad with a ferrari.il pretend to accept the idea of using these as pask skis and say, mount the 2cm back at least because center mount would be a disaster flex wise

I didnt buy them as a park ski, they were more my all mtn. pow ski last season. But I had hell bents this season for pow and started skiing my bacons in park more and more and they turned out to be a lot of fun

i had mine at -2 and hated it. i slid it back to recommended and they were completely different skis. they dont ski pow switch as well, but i can still land switch in pow just fine, and they ski the whole mountain completely different, at -2 they felt hooky and unstable (because of the early taper) now theyre completely sex, they kill everything

Bump ski = short, skinny, and NOODLY.

I have my Bacons at -3 from center and love them. I ski switch alot and pretty much am restricted to NE for powder, so mounting them at rec. seemed a bit much. I'm also 5'10", so didn't feel like I needed the extra length.

I skied park on them after my other skis broke, and they were fun. Great for butters and simple rails and boxes. That said, anything remotely technical or over a 540 in the park will be difficult because of the size. In short, play around between rec and core center depending on preferance and size, but for pity's sake, you don't need another center mounted ski.

i hate super noodly bump skisi like ones that are short, skinny, and mid-soft, on the softer side but not noodles

^ yeah, unless you ski 100% bumps, you don't want mogul specific skis. They will suck for all mountain and chatter at any speed at all. But if you compete, they are a huge advantage. Waists of only 60 mm.'s and short lengths means high maneuverability and very fast edge changes (up to 3 a second). The flex is soft to conform to the moguls and not to pop you out of every bump. Complete tangent from Bacons, but whatever
