Center-moo

For a center-mounted park ski that I'll use mostly for rails, how long should they be?

I'm 5'4" now, maybe as much as 5'7" by next winter.

Oh haha sorry about the title I meant "Center-mount park/rail ski length) but my keyboard screwed up bigtime...

Center-moo..... haha....

Really? Oh yeah I guess if I was 5'7" 171 would be what I would use... What about if I stayed 5'4"? 161's? The only reason I want to err on the short side is because I had heavy and stiff skis that were too long for me this season and it really sucked, so I was looking for something short and manuverable.

moo

i ski with a girl who is 5 4 and she rocks 171's in anthems and some super plankey liberty.

you're not going to let a girl do that to you are you?

Just get something with a soft flex. Longer is better, mooo is better.

So are short skis really that bad? Cause I know it's personal preference, and I kinda like having them more manuverable and all...

kinda seems like you already have your mind made up.

you would be better on 171's. once you hit 5'7" you will want to go longer. trust that!

shorter skis are less stable, be it on jumps, landings or just all mountain skiing. once you get used to long skis you'll be a lot more confident with your skiing. and yea, i guess technically shorter skis will be more maneuverable, but i'm not sure what you have to maneuver around that much when you ski that makes u need a smaller ski. so like i said, i'd get a least 171 if i were u.
be glad you can have a park ski thats big enough, i'm 6'3'' and i think my 179 PEs are too short, but it's the longest size they make.

Yea I'm pretty small... So what do you think about 166's? I get what your saying about longer skis. and by maneuverable I meant like on rails (i.e. switchups, 270 on/offs, etc...)

im 5'6 and the shortest skis i have are 179 fujatives and the longest are 186 big troubles

deffinitly go longer especially if your center mooing because when they are center mooed the swing weight is equal so you can spin superduper fast but there is still lots of stability going forwards or backwards

really the only thing not great about centre mounting is tip dive in pow. But now we have rocker to deal with that.

well, i've said it 4 times now i'd get something 171 or over lol. i don't really care if u get 166s, but IMO they'd be too short if u grew at all.

and the added tail doesn't screw you guys up at all? I mean I know it messes with you in the bumps but thats a given with any center-mount... And I just realized that centered 171's are pretty much the same as what I ski now but with added tail, the tip will be like the same (obvious, I know). I think I'm convinced. Thanks for all the help everyone.

my park skis are like 10 cms taller than me

just man up

longer skis are baller for everything and if they are center mooed you wont have ANY trouble with spinning on/off/ switch ups, they will just be more stable in the air and on landings.
