Cell Phones?

Well as much as I hate cell phones my parents are getting me one for my car, in case I break down in the middle of nowhere and for other reasons. Does anyone know any good brands or any shit like that? I don't know anything about cell phones. If you live in vermont, what service do you have? Thanks to anyone who knows anything about them.

nokia is the best, and your rents are fucked up, most rents say no to having cells in the car for safety reasons... talking on the phone and driving is really dangerous.....

um having your car break down isn't exactly the same thing as talking on the phone while your driving.

I have a nokia 3360 and I tihnk it is pretty chill, easy to use and some good games, along with that crazy roots canadian faceplate it is pimpin, but your american so just stick with the regular one

 
well if you lived in japan you could get the sexiest of the sexiest phones...actually, any DoCeMo phone is sick!

If you are thinking of getting a new phone but you DONT have GSM service in your area...wait! The difference between digital and GSM is insane! Trust me, you'll be very glad you waited!

If you do have GSM, all of the new motorola phones are much higher quality than the nokia's...unless you live in europe...then i just hate you and you most likely have a phone that is nearly as good as Lord_Piot's...well...almost.

yeah get a motorola one! thats what i have and it rules.. especially the voice activated dialing and the cute rubber cover mine has! and the banner that says 'iloveskiguys'

i HATE those fucking cell phone condoms that you can get for the motorola v series phones! They make things so much more difficult...

...and nothing beats the confederate flag face plate for the nokia 3360's :-)

I bought a cell for when I was a parking control officer, and I worked in a car for 50 hours a week, and this is all the advice I can give: The panasonic TX210 is a sweet phone because it's small, but that means that the battery is small, and my talk time is only 20 minutes (seriously).

no the covers are cool for people like me that drop them all the time and the battery like spills EVERYWHERE to unreachable places under your car.. trust me, they're a great invention.. also the invention of insurance for a cell phone.. haha it was obviously aimed at people like me

Go with Sprint for your service and get either a samsung or sanyo phone. I've had them both and never had a problem. Well other than the time I tried to knock out a lamp post with it still in my pocket. THe screen burst and I had to get a new one.

The spring Sanyo phones have color screens too, they're player. DoCoMo iMode will be available in the states by x-mas. That's when Verizon plans to have their third generation (3G) network available for public usage. It's going to be pricey, no doubt.

I say go with motorolla, their DSP chips are stronger.

3G technology will take a VERY long time before it is economically feasible in the states. The biggest barrier to a succesful role-out of the service is that that north america is such a huge land mass compared to Europe and Japan. Our populations are very spread out unlike in japan where there is very dense population.

This is the same reason why we are only now getting cellular technology that european countries have had for two or three years. It's much more difficult to make a wireless network across a country where the majority of the population are small woodland creatures.

I live in Nokia... None of you guys probably knew this but Nokia is actually a city in Finland, it's where the whole company got started. I'm so proud of myself for just living here...

I've had the same Nokia phone for like 4 years now and I've never had a problem with it, so I guess I could say it's safe to go with nokia. I've heard though that the newer ones fall apart easier because they are getting so complicated, with all of them fm radios and mp3 players...
