Cell phone company

Hey so I'm moving to florida from australia at the end of this month so starting to sort out essentials,
so few questions.
What cell phone company is the best to go with, I only know a few people right now, so was thinking a pre-paid phone.I also want to get a black berry so i can BBM friends from back home and also my girlfriend in FL.
Will it be cheaper to just get a plan that comes with a free phone?other question would be internet company, I'm working for a surf company so lots of large PDFs getting sent via e-mail and what not so needs to be quick but most importantly reliable.

in the US sprint i think is the cheapest of the 3 major phone companies (verizon, ATT, sprint)

Blackberrys also can access the internet if you include that in your plan, and can store and share PDF files. So you may not need a internet company if you end up buying a blackberry.

Dont buy a prepaid phone, I used to have one, thought it was the cheapest and best bet, made a few long calls and before i knew it was almost out of minutes.

you can get really good deals from both sprint and verizon. I dont know if you are moving with a family but from what i have heard family plans are really good but if your not dont worry unlimited for sprint is like $100 a month and verizon is just a little more. I would def go for a smart phone though Iphone or HTC type.
