Catchin some hate on TGR

Is it just me or does the guy in your pic look like both his toe and heal are mounted into heel pieces?
 
He wasn't really hating, he was just disagreeing like anyone would have expected someone on TGR to do. That said, I voted for you. Good luck dude!
 
thats so rediculous that they got upset that an AWESOME picture of SKIING was winning the contest. come on NS, rally the troops, rally your friends. HELP DUBIE WIN THIS SHIT!

haha... they aren't really hating too much. it's kinda funny. And hell ya, rate up Dubie's pic! it truly was the very first day putting skis on this season.
 
its a rad picture for sure, stoke is always high on the first days of the season. collin is a good friend of mine as well but i dont think this should win the contest if its for representation of skiing on that large of a scale. yeah, were all passionate about freestyle skiing but how would you feel if they chose some racer picture that was taken from a white strip of death at killington on opening day? although it might have a high stoke level with that core audience...in the broader scope there are lots of other better options available to better portray where skiings best place is.
 
I realize you took the picture so:
A) Are a bit sensitive to commentsB) Want your photo to win, so will use this as a way of doing so
but.. how the fuck are they hating? The guy raised a legitimate issue. You're just making NS look bad by starting a topic with a title like that.
 
see i dont understand that. i grew up in connecticut where all i had was ice and rails. i truly enjoy and love every time i click into my bindings and just get on my skis. why does this picture not and others do "better portray where skiings best place is?"

this was the first day utah got snow and there were unbelievable amounts of kids hiking everything imaginable at guardsmans. everyone was smiling, having fun and just straight stoked. imo thats what skiings best place is
 
word i get that, to me its not about where ur skiing but just the act in general. im sorry i didnt have a shot of someone slashing 10 feet of fresh pow, but im am also working with what i have.
 
i agree your photo and explanation sucks.

i would be much happier with my friends skiing three feet of pow in utah. im sure many people on NS let alone TGR would agree with me. besides, it is rating the best photo right? as far as photographs go, it really isn't a captivating photo.

just my 2 cents .. i know NS will probably "mom is it hammertime?" me for this.
 
There's some really dope shots in the contest. I cant say that I really disagree with him. But I voted for your shot anyway. The smiles of everybody in it says alot! Makes me wish I was there. Besides, I like to support the newschoolers community. Goodluck!
 
i think it's a conflict of understanding in terms of what the contest is about. also, the pic looks like shit, just sayin.

besides that, the TGR forums are more like 4chans than NS's are. don't expect anybody on TGR to be nice to you.
 
yeah i was up 2 days later, it was sick, but i was way more focused on skiing than shooting. im really sorry that i uploaded a pic that all you guys dont't like, but i was pumped to have shot that day, it was just a bunch of buddies sessioning a a feature that we built and everyone was loving it, all smiles. it was the first day out and everyone was stoked just to be skiing, isnt that what skiig is supposed to be about ? just out there loving it no matter what you have to work with ?

TGR is right, the greatest place on earth is tits deep in pow, not sliding down a log, with no mountain and hardly any snow visible.
 
dubies stoked on a photo he took, found this contest a few days later, uploaded it and wants to win this contest. its not like if this wins everyone has to agree upon sliding a rail being the best place on earth or hes trying to give a big fuck you at anyone who enjoys skiing powder. fuck id rather be waist deep on a stormy day then anywhere near any sort of slidable feature, as most people with a pulse would agree, but mikes a buddy so i'm gonna vote for his picture. vote however you want to vote, so far dubies got the best marketing out, so fuck.

Since the top 2 get the label, why not have NS pics for both spots? Voted yours up, it would be great to see NSers on some JONES.

Back to the TGR subject, i totally agree with Dubie's first post in that thread. Anywhere you can ski can be the best place on earth. But yes, to each his own, so watever. If this contest wasn't judged by voting, results would definitely be different. Not to say Dubie's shot isn't sick, or that it shouldn't be in the #1 place, but there are a lot of really amazing photos on there that are on the last page of "most popular." Lucky for us, we have communities like NS and TGR to Help us out.

I completely agree with the guy. its not that great of a photo, not is it the greatest place to ski. sure its cool because its the first day but there are way better places to ski than on a sketchy log with minimal snow.
 
alta has plenty of open pastures, if you picked the right spots it seemed pretty bottomless for a few harmless turns. didnt hear anyone complaining about that day.
 
you cant take pictures or do anything on a mountain early season bob_dole, there is like a rock somewhere.
