Catamaran vs Outline

My local mountain (Mount hood) is getting absolutely dumped on right now, I’m talking like 4 feet in the last two days and more on the way kind of dump, big boi shits, anyway. I want to try some pow skis and I only have the cash to try one pair for this huge ass storm. I’ve narrowed it down to the k2 catamaran and the line outline. What do y’all think I should ride

Are you talking you want to rent for the storm or buy? If you want to buy, we need more info about you (weight height age skier type, what you’re skiing on now) to give you better advice. If you’re talking renting, either one is a great ski.

Cats are a super fun time, can't speak for the Outline.

Outline are lighter and easier to whip around but both are fun, playful skis. Skied the Outline last Spring and couldn’t believe the surfy float with them! In untracked powder they were a blast! Not too bad when things got tracked but it’s lighter weight not as stable as a heavy crud destroyer.

Anxious to try the new K2 Reckoner 122 as I think it will improve upon the already fun Catamaran.

If it were me I would rent the outline, just because I know the Catamaran is enough ski for me but I would be interested to know if I am just too big of a human for an Eric Pollard ski. Plus the convex tips sound fun

It seriously feels like a boat hull going through the snow! Effortless gliding through it. I’m sure the other convex tips on other skis feel similar but that’s the first time I’ve been on one and noticed a difference.

I would vote outline for max playfulness, catamaran if you want to get a bit sendier. Cats are heavier and stiffer I believe, outlines are gonna be surfier, softer and lighter.
