Castleton state college?

Anybody on here go there? im looking into that school and im just wondering how far it is from some moutains and some imformation about it.

tell me some good colleges up there. but the only thing is that i play golf and they need to have a golf team. thats why i like castleton.

oh, well lyndon doesnt have a golf team, but i major in ski resort management, its probably the best major you could ever imagine.

um, some kids i know at other vermont colleges say it sucks driving so far for mountains. i ski 5 times a week cause burke is so close.

honestly, i think everywhere else besides lyndon is kinda shitty up here, haha

o i drve 50 minuetes to get to me resort now so it would be much of a change to me im kinda used to it. but yea im gonna look more into. and that sounds like a sick major

i went their for a summer camp years ago.. they have a pretty nice campus, not too big, but its pretty clean and good. i dont know about the teaching or the mountains near it though

I go there. Im a freshman. Its about 40 minutes from Killington and they will give you a student seasons pass for $350. The campus is nice, the people are nice, the bud is nice but the school its self sucks. It some programs like spots ed and stuff are good. Fine arts suck ass, most dorms suck ( I have been with out hot water for over 5 weeks= cold showers every day.) some of the administers are dicks. If you wanna party, ski and be high all the time its fun. Weekends are REALLY boring though.

graduated last year from csc. if you want to go to college and ski all the time castleton isn't a bad choice... lyndon is cool i guess if you want to be even more out in the middle of nowhere than castleton and have a small mountain with an even worse park and killington... but killington is decent i guess, it's a huge mountain with a little of everything. as far as castleton goes there is a park on campus that is pretty good if there is enough snow, it's all maintained by students who want to put work in. dorms suck it's similar to living in a consintration camp depending on where you live for get kicked out of the dorms asap, the only thing that will happen is you are forced to get an off campus apartment and live as a free man drinking smoking and being loud as you please and for less money too, will not affect your academic standing what so ever. as far as the dope goes, it's mostly outdoor for 40/slice. all in all go here if your grades suck, if your grades are good, go to uvm

i looked at it. seemed really really small and dry to me.

never looked at lyndon, although ski resort management sounds intriguing. i've heard a lot of people do it.

i'd say look into the 3 main burlington schools too.

UVM

i wanna go somewhere that i can have fun. my grades aree kinda bad. average is around 80 or less. but i want to play golf to so i need a school with a golf team?

I went to Green Mountain like 15 mn away from Casleton and played on there golf team. Although not as competivitve as Casleton our top guys could hold there own and Casletons kids were a bunch of fags....If you live on the campus at GMC theres Lake St. Cathrine GC 10 min away if your in the KIllington Program at Green Mountain you live in Killington and have that course and Green Mountain Nantional to chose from one of the better GC in Vermont, mabey best to The Country Club of Vermont. Living in Killington skiing is just about as good as it gets in Vermont , KIllington, Pico for when its banged out (some real good lines there if you know where to go.) Mad River Glen and others about a hour away.

...and to continue the screaming generalizations, all GMC kids are screaming, drugged out hippies...

/generalizations about school campuses

Anyways,

Castleton has some good skiing within an hour drive. Pico a half-hour away, Killington around 40 minutes away. Okemo is around 45 minutes away. Magic Mountain is about an hour away.

I don't go there but Castleton's close to killington. As far as colleges go it's mediocre for education I've heard. They also have a few more breaks than most schools, and the area is pretty rural (as is most of VT besides burlington)

check out GMC, Casleton, then head up to Burlington to check out the schools up there...UVM and Champlain....Burlingtons a fun place....

i'm visiting castleton april break, really interested in going there. uvm is just way to much money.

thats a picture from a few years ago when we put the down and flat rail together with that fag niels034 hitting it. The down rail stays where it is but the flat can be moved anywhere. down i think is 25ft and flat is 20. they built a few more boxes this year and have a pretty decent size drop in. It could be made a fun little rail park if the right hands are on it.

except lyndon is 5 minutes from a mountain...not 40 minutes. I ski 5 times a week. Burke has a sick park and actually Jon Ollson was just at burke last weekend, killington is a crowded piece of shit. oh and lyndon has rails setup nonstop during winter across campus

UVM, just play club golf. It is probably more competitive than Castleton anyway....my dorm last year was literally on a golf course

dude ... seems like you smoked lot of pot.. you sure your grades werent affected ... what are you doin post castleton? I graduated in december from there and i would have to say i loved that school.. great people... you will be close with a small group of riders who will be your friends for life... and still know everyone pretty well... just try and stay out of ellis hall if you can and if you cant get ont he first floor and fuck shit up... but go here.

This year they did a lot or renovation on the fields back by the park. This year there were 2 flat bars maybe 20 and 25 feet, 2 15 foot boxes,a 20 ft piece of black pipe/coping kinda thing. The drop in is about 12 feet tall. Students can change the set up when ever they want. We didnt have a lot of snow this year but it was fun as hell when it was set up. Probably the most redeeming part about this school.

And like some one said up top, if you go here, stay out of Ellis. Worst dorm ever. Try to get into Castleton, its the best dorm by far.

You've gotta be out of your mind. I can't believe your even comparing Burke to Killington. As for colleges Castleton may not be the greatest but it's a lot better than lyndon.

ingnance. lyndon is so much better in that i ski five days a week, have the option to hit some jibs in between classes, and not suck on dicks at castleton. also ill be making phat bank$$$$ while skiing for the rest of my life, hows castleton sound? yup.

Well Timmy the fact of the matter is you get a better education at Castleton and Burke isn't even comparable to Killington. Hows lyndon sound? yup.

how far is killy from castleton? because lyndon is also 45 minutes from Loon and Jay.. and killington isnt even comparable to loon

umm...we come out with a degree in ski resort management., meaning we ski forever basically..castleton doesnt have shit on that, suck our balls

I went and visited Lyndon, it seemed so damn boring. There is no life to the campus it felt like. Also the ski resort management program looks cool, but you can get the jobs people get after they graduate, without the program.

but your wrong, new marketing guy at mt snow went to lyndon, but the person before him, Shane McFalls, was really good at what he did, and wasnt from any type of ski program. just sayin..
