Cascade Mountain Park Updates

Welcome to the thread which will contain up-to-date information on all things terrain park at cascade. I am going to try and keep this updated on weekly basis w/ pictures. Unfortunately my camera didn't save the pictures I took today so this one's all words.

From the top of the Daisy Park (formerly known as the Rail yard):

-UP Triple Barrel Rail

-Trap Butter Box

-Down-Flat Focus Boxes

(Then the rest of this is the same as last weekend)

Left line:

-lat Box

-Flat-Down Focus Boxes

Right Line:

-Donkey Dick Rail

-Tall Flat Triple Barrel Rail

Depending on how much time I have in the morning we may or may not set up another feature or two. We are still busy pumping snow into the other half of the Daisy Park and the North Park so those will remain featureless, but there should be some pretty fun snow making piles in the North Park to play on.

Good things are happening at Cascade this season. We plan to utilize Boarderland as an acutal terrain park with man-made features this season. Think log jibs and "natural" looking features. Should be an interesting and fun park. We've learned a lot from the last two season's and I think we will have way sicker parks this season compared to the past two years. Hope to see everyone out shredding soon!

I wouldn't expect much to happen until friday night. But I will definitely post an update as soon as we do change things up.

There might be hope for a small change during the week.... thinking maybe take the tall triple barrel from the end of the park and putting it right after the up triple barrel to make it Up-Down... and then taking the trap butter box because there wouldn't be enough room after the triple barrels and moving it to where the tall triple barrel was? It would take away a feature, but it would keep things a little bit more fresh. I'm hesitant to do that just because I know most people love the up triple barrel right now so I don't want to mess with that.

I thought they were both the same i guess... all I know is the tall one is at the end of the park right now and the shorter (height) one is the up rail at the start of the park. If they are different I would guess the short one is actually longer. But I don't know.

my suggestion would be to just add a little bit of snow to the landing of the triple barrel at the end to just save the knees a little and it would be fine, that and the up rail are the only 2 rails ive really been hitting so personally i think theyre good where theyre at

nobody cares about those metal grind slider things.... when are you going put the snow wedges back on the hill? Those are stored in that building by the terrain zone, right?

oh my gosh....
you are SUCH an idiot, they have to make the jumps out of snow you retard, they don't just store them in the shed with the rails. god some people are so fucking dumb...

how soon are some jumps gonna go up? are they gonna do the three jumps in a row like last year? if so they should space em out a bit and make the last one a little bigger.

I honestly can't give you a date when we'll have the North Park setup. I want it to be super legit when it opens. You can expect a taller and wider drop-in (We want it big enough for a cat to sit on top of), more spaced out shelves, and I am pretty sure the last jump will be like the left side (smaller) hit that we had for the Midwest Open. Should be pretty good. I have some ideas for some sick rail set-ups in there as well.

We're shooting for sometime mid-week to start pushing out North Park. We still need a lot more snow in there though so I still don't know when it will actually be ready to open.

Sounds like we might have the other half of the Daisy Park open sometime next week as well which would mean we would pretty much do a complete overhaul of the entire park.

We did set up a new feature today which should be open tomorrow. It's a log rail in boarder land... it's at least 20 feet long... maybe more like 30. I haven't hit it yet, but I definitely think it will work on skis though. It's different, but different is good.

Tomorrow night we will be starting full construction of the North Park, Daisy Park, and Cottontail Park. We're shooting to have the entire hill 100% open by the weekend. Pretty sure we've never been 100% this early in the season.

Just a heads up: We plan on shutting down the Daisy Park tomorrow (Tuesday) so that we can pull the rails out, construct all new drop in, shelves, and then reset the park with a bunch of rails, boxes, and a jib or two. Should be a super fun setup.

i want to help, school sucks. I would love to come out and help after school, if dave says its ok, and if i work with you luke

We will be setting up the park during the day tomorrow starting right away in the morning... we will be working until we have everything right, so call ahead to find out if the park is open if you're coming.

Daisy Park build went pretty well today. Got a little bit of work left to do in the morning (push up some kickers and a couple landings). The park might not be ready right at 10:00 tomorrow morning, so you might want to call ahead or make sure to check the website. But it will be open sometime tomorrow before like 12. I'll get some pictures tomorrow and post them up here. Nothing is the same as it was 2 days ago... here's the setup:

First Line:

-Flat-Down-Flat Rail

-Up Black Box Top Rail

-Down-ish 38' Box Top Rail

-Stair Set: Donkey Dick Rail and T-Box

Second Line:

-A-Frame Focus Boxes

-Flat Focus Box

-Flat Triple Barrel

-Battleship Box Top Rail

I might try and setup a couple more features in the morning... it depends on time and snow constraints though.

North Park and Cottontail are the next two priorities once we finish the Daisy Park tomorrow. We plan to have the North Park fully stocked with jumps no later than Christmas.. maybe earlier, but we aren't really sure how long it will take to push out all the shelves because they are going to be different than last year.

Stoked for the shred tomorrow.

Haha yeah word I know I almost took some today, but there's no kickers and stuff just doesn't look like it's going to look like tomorrow when it's all done.

Just got off the phone with Clint (our cat operator who makes things happen) and it sounds like he's going to get to spend a decent amount of time in North Park tonight. SWEET!

most fun set up i have hit in about 5 years at cascade, no lie. It is better then any other rail park right now. super fun, super nice flow. I hope you guys go this weekend it is way worth it.
