Carving off Jumps (Videos)

Post video(s) below of people who are good at carving their spins. I'm working on transitioning from a straight pop and spin to a carve and spin and I need motivation and to watch some of the best to see how its done well.

Would be very helpful if lots of the shots showed the take off so I could see the carve pattern! thanks!

I think it makes spins a lot easier, when you carve hard you probably won't get sucked up by the lip on a spin and land like a slug (if you land forwards) because you have forward shin pressure which keeps you balanced better on the takeoff.

I can only carve jumps in general, I hate just straight airing them. Gotta get my drift on.

But a lot of the time I'll carve and land way in the back seat when spinning and landing regular, if I pull it around for switch though it looks and feels fine.

I guess lean forward and be patient on the spin. I've had 360 issues so much..... If I think about learning forward I come around perfectly.

true that, I remember like 2 years ago learning 3's without carving and I just always felt like something was missing/they looked like shit. Then I started carving 'em and it always feels great.

another awesome looking carving trick:say you're approaching the jump and naturally spin left so you normally carve left, but instead, carve right and still spin left. looks super cool

i gotta try carving into a 3. Straight 3's feel weird to me like im forcing the spin

when you carve into a jump do you still pop as much as you do when hitting it regular?

any if anyone has a vid of a carved straight air id like seeing that

/thread right there. the angles of the camera show it so beautifully. the song choice and flow of that video is awesome. thanks for posting. I remember seeing this last year and couldnt find it! going to bookmark now. thank you!

I know this is a video forum but I hope a pic will do. You can learn corks without an airbag by carving off jumps. Just do it on a jump with a lot of hangtime, barely drop the shoulder on a 360 and if you have decent air awareness you'll come right around. Drop the shoulder harder for more invert, add spins, and get pussy.

When I first started to learn how to freestyle ski all my friends that were also new to the park would give me shit about carving into the jump and it annoyed me so much because they would say stuff like "that wasn't a real 3 because you were already at 45 degrees before the takeoff"

Exactley, struggled with my 3s until I start focusing on having my weight forward

I'm wondering this as well. Do you need as much pop?
