I spent the last week ripping out the carpeting in my new house. heres a pic of all the rolls i now have.

So, a couple questions:
What type of carpeting works best? ie shaggy or whatever the other type is?
How steep should my drop in be?
Where would you recommend getting cheap wood?

you can make your drop in really steep as long as you have a smooth tranny. Try going to a construction site for wood, I found one and they gave me a ton of scraps for free!

i tried using carpet first, and it does NOT slide well. i'm sure some types will work decently, but i would recommend shelling out for turf, it will work a lot better. what you can do with that is use it as your landing, or just roll it out in the whole area, under the rail, at the end.

just buy turn a lot better and you dont have to stop and water as much. also i have carpet for my landing, it smells like shit

I did exactly that a few weeks ago when I ripped up my carpet. Works great for a landing!
