Im hyped! Obviously she’s not exactly qualified but neither are the majority of the hacks in DC. Feel like she’s got as good of chances as anyone to win in Utah as a democrat
 
She’s been somewhat active in politics and issues she cares about. Her name is somewhat known. Makes sense. I wish her well.

y u blatantly change my words? I said as good a chance as anyone has to win as a democrat, meaning her chances are low, but there probably aren’t any dems who would have a better chance than her

I was trying to make a point about a democrat running for office in Utah, not about caroline. who ever is running as a democrat doesn't matter, Utah is a red state that will blindly follow the republican party.
 
not even the house, she's running for senate? interesting lol

(context for those who don't know, there are way more house reps than senators, and house reps only get voted on by people in their congressional district while senators get voted on by the entire state. so all things being equal it's way harder to get voted into the senate esp as an unknown)

Yeah I feel ya. I think she could bring together the same sort of coalition as POW which I think includes alot of moderate conservatives but yeah thats probably not enough

its not even remotely close to enough haha maybe you're just naive but outside of Salt Lake County and Summit County, every area of utah is very red. Check out some of our previous elections, dems get like 15-20% of the vote, sometimes slightly more. Local elections are different, SL county/summit county will elect dems but statewide elections are always republican won by a landslide.
 
I did read something somewhere that said she was not that good for the environment. But then I think it was one of those posts like "flys everywhere, drives, etc" which kinda isn't a good argument.

To be fair, running for a public office in a conservative state is the only thing one can do to actually change policy, so good for her on that front.

Ya, and lobbying requires burning fossil fuels and stuff so I get that. It's doing more than the most of tbh. Getting into office and getting policies changed are two different things tho.

NSers are generally kinda dumb but i got bad news for you man, the general voting pool is hardly better. lots and lots of people don't know the basic shit i mentioned in my post

something like 2/3 of republicans report that they don't believe biden won the 2020 election. we live in the fuckin twilight zone dude, adjust your expectations accordingly

I saw a poll stating 57% of Americans don't think Arabic numerals should be taught in schools. 57%!!!
