Car Impounded...

my buddies car got impounded last night and were wondering if they are allowed to search the car. we had alcohol in one of the bags soo we wanna know if were going to get in trouble for that
 
after your car is impounded by the police they can search it. but if it was just impounded by a tow company otherwise than no.
 
^yah...also if it was impounded by police, they would only search to make an inventory of the items in the car so the tow company doesn't steal anything...your alcohol should be safe.
 
cops dont care about alcohol as much as people think. Atleast in ny the cops will look the other way on most minor cases like alcohol or small amounts of weed
