That's a lot of miles on that Beemer. You might wanna plan on spending quite a bit on repairs for it. Unless you know how to do it yourself, then it could be reasonable and might be a good one to get.

Ask the person if you could take it to a reputable repair shop and have them go through it and get an estimate on repair costs.

I have a feeling you'll be spending quite a bit on repairs.

If your budget is that low...don't aim for a car that is "cool". A BMW that old is going to have a lot of problems chances are. Take it to a mechanic before you buy it if your serious. Just get what is going to be the most reliable car as possible...trsut me long run its worth it. I drive a 2003 VW jetta have 130,000 miles on it and have barely done anything more than timing belt and oil changes.

what are you oging to use it for?

if you just want to get around town get a civic or corolla or something. If you are into cars, you wouldn't be making this thread.

If you want to use it more on highways, or mostly as a ski car, look for something a bit bigger, AWD or fwd is a plus.
