i finally got adobe to work. i have a canon hv10, and im trying to import video, but it says timecode range is invalid.

i have no idea what this means, someone help!

what could be happening is that you're not leaving enough room at your in and out points. Between each shot, you need at least 10-20 seconds pre-roll at the beginning and end of each shot. What this means is that when you shoot, start shooting a good amount of time before your subject starts moving, and keep rolling after, don't just stop recording right away. This way, you will always be sure that you have enough room in between clips to set in and out points. If you start recording as soon as your subject starts their action and stop right after, you will not be able to capture the whole clip, you may end up being able to capture only half of it or the middle chunk of it. Hope this helps.

um, HV10? Are you meaning the hg10 or the hv20? THat confuses me, and the fact that the HG10 records with AVCHD format, its hard to find an editor that can worth with it. give google a try

kinda jacking your thread but you already have an answer i think

but sometimes i get that messege and it just says increase preroll

and il increase it to like 30 seconds

but it still wont work

and it says cant find in point

that's because when you shot your footage, you didn't start recording early enough. When you shoot, you should always start recording at least 10 seconds before you shoot your subject.

oh my bad, i forgot there was a hv10 model, all i've been seeing lately is the HG10. But for your problem, try downloading HDV split (google it, its free) works perfectly fine for me.
