Capture Cam?

Do you guys think that I would need to have a capture cam for a JVC GZ-HD7, its not a wicked expensive PRO camera but its still pretty nice. Im kinda new to filming and everyone says use a capture cam. What do you guys think?

depends if you want to keep the hours on the heads down...

I'm not saying its a bad camera or anything, but a lot of people would use your camera as a capture camera for a better cam. Unless you're using a $3000+ camera I wouldn't spend the money. Besides, the heads will be good for a really long time, unless you're shooting just tons and tons of footage, there's really no need even with a really pricey camera

just go buy a broken camcorder on ebay.. find one that plays back footage for like $20 like I did
