Capeesh boys club

Anyone else think it's kinda whack that there are only men in the Capeesh team?

I remember in the Jib League documentary Ferdi talked about feeling responsible for making a change in the scene. Yet it's 2024 and the Capeesh team consists of 8 men and 0 women.

Don't get me wrong, I think all the current team riders deserve the support. But it would be nice if it wouldn't be 100% men.

There's not enough core women freeskiers to go around. So many of the women at that level get real modeling gigs from mainstream (non ski) brands that smaller ski clothing brands have nobody left to sponsor.

I think that's a really bad take tbh. I mean almost all of the Capeesh team members have pretty big sponsors - Red Bull, Monster, Armada, Faction, Atomic, etc.

I doubt that anyone of the team members does it for the money. And I'm sure that there are definitely "core" women freeskiers out there that would join the team.

tbh maybe an unpopular opinion but capeesh just doesn’t do it for me lol. their outerwear/clothes never jump out at me like harlaut or arsenic, was never interested in the belts either. so much good skiing comes from it obviously but never really got the cult following

their outerwear seems to be pretty high quality and seems like they always are looking for ways to improve, like that arc inspired jacket they made. their other stuff feels kinda lazy tho imo but I don’t really pay attention or buy capeesh so I might not be accurate in saying that. arsenic stays winning

The pants are great and way more hard wearing than harlauts. A bit basic but classic looking

i don’t really like the jackets or hoodies

take it back i do think the pants are good, i remember a homie having them and i was impressed

Sometimes it takes a while for a brand to build a following before it can diversify its product line to cater to everyone. Vishnu is a good example of this, they only made 177 and longer skis for years (too long for most women) before they had the resources to make shorter lengths. It’s expensive and more risky to make tons of sizes and styles because some might not sell. You are right to call out ferdi for not exactly putting his money where his mouth is, but small startup brands also deserve patience because capeesh isn’t the only small core brand guilty of this, most of them are.

all this forced diversity is so degrading to women. adding a woman to the team just for the sake of having a woman there is honestly objectifying because let's be real, very few women can match the level of skiing on their team. and those women already have sponsorships, etc. so having a woman, just for show really, is wrong. the literal fascination you guys have with these female professional skiers doing tricks your average male park rat can do almost makes me think you guys are amazed women can ski at all, like you thought so low of them that them being able to do anything should grant them a podium spot. when will we start treating women as equals SMH.

Also OP is either down BAD for pussy or a fucking creep.

Let's hope this is the reason and the contracts are about to end soon!

also the way you said this gives me major creep vibes I'm sorry. it sounds like you're drooling at the thought of seeing a woman draped in capeesh ???

Damn, look at all these boys getting upset at how many boys are on a shitty, no-name brand's "team".

I bet you SJWs are gonna get sooooooo many pink names DMing you thanking you for your courageous support and speaking out against the good ol' boys club. Ride on, white knights! Ride on.

Ok so I have this crazy idea and I know it sounds totally insane, but maybe Capeesh isn’t sexist and they just don’t sponsor any women yet because there isn’t any unsponsored women who match their brand identity ??????????‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️

The pants look better in person imo. They're pretty dope baggy pants made of heavy ish fabric so they keep their shape in a nice way. I think the main reason though for the following is people love Ferdi and the other team members.

If I understand right, you're saying that you shouldn't put someone on a team if they don't match the skill level, more or less, and also that female skiers perform at a much lower level than male skiers. So you see how there's a logical problem here. If both statements are true then most teams would be virtually male only.

I love seeing a girl that shreds. more power to her yk. I hate seeing a girl that is OK mixed in with a bunch of pros just for the sake of having a girl. the "problem" here is reality. i think line is a good example of a team with proper female representation. the women in their videos always add to it (from the few i've watched).

OP has a really good point considering Ferdi did say that, and Ferdi has not yet executed the change he wants to see in the Capeesh team specifically.

That being said, Capeesh is still relatively new, I think it's a little too soon to call him out for this yet. We can come back in a couple years and see where Capeesh is at, but right now its still a pretty underground and niche brand so they probably just haven't found the right personnel or the people who he wants to represent the brand have other contracts or just don't want to wear Capeesh. There's a lot of factors.
