dude just cause we ski park doesnt mean any of us are cocky. and just cause we ski park doesnt mean we cant ski big mountain. Know what you talking aoubt before YOU start acting cocky claimimg you the king of big mountain

 
I never said I was cocky or did I say I am the best. I prefer skiing with people better than me because they push my limit and make me feel more humble. I agree I know a lot of skiers who can rip backcountry as well as park. But if you don't have avi gear, proper training, knowledge of conditions and a trustworthy partner you shouldn't be skiing anything that is past the ropes.

Let the topic rest becuase I know I will never ski with any of you and dont judge other people when you never seen them ski.

You see Fortskier, the problem here is you. You are on here constantly trying to tell everyone how much better you are because you dont ski park. Dont make me quote you either. Im sure if you look in these top five threads you can find at least three examples.

I think its cool that you spend lots of time in the Backcountry and whatnot, and I'd like to do more myself. Probably the best season Ive had was at Kicking Horse just starting to touch on backcountry. But the reality is that its not all that easy. Some of us have school, some of us are lazy, some of us don't have the resources.

Furthermore, some of these kids, although I'm sure they also like 'real' skiing, enjoy the park too. Is there something wrong with that? They might, in fact be working their way up in the ski world and next thing you know they are being heli dropped in Alaska for free. Then who would be laughing? I know that some of these kids have a chance at it. I for one, have more or less given up.

Your right, Canyon is really not that fun, but it is still a hill and is still a place to ski. I learnt to ski on a hill half that size and am proud of it. (It still takes Canyon anyday.) So maybe you have to ask yourself, who really is 'more of a skier.' The kids having fun with the little they got, or the guy thinking that the only true skiers are the ones earning their turns.

Sim I mostly aggree with you. The purpose of skiing is too have fun. Some people enjoy riding lifts to ski park and the whole mountain. I for one find it sort of boring riding a lift up just sitting then skiing down between the lines.

I find my fun skiing backcountry. skinning up gives you a hell of a work out plus its very fun when you have your buddies along. Dont get me wrong I've skied at resorts more than I have been skinning but I like skinning over taken a lift.

This past winter I skinned up the sunshine ski out to acsses some backcountry behind standish mountain. I could have paided the 50 dollars for the lift but you get way more outta skinning up and you save money so you can buy some booze that night. heheh

whoa whoa WHOA buddy! first off, NONE of the P.Crew is cocky, we are all jsut defending our selves, u started beaking P.Crew so what are we supposed to do....jsut take it? i think not... and i have alwasy had respect for people who ride backcountry...but it is way easier to amke it in teh ski world by being really good at park, then once you get that your sponsors will start paying for your trips to alaska and bella coola and ride really sick shit. for instance, jon mcmurray, he was a straight 'park rat' and he became huge in the ski world....now he films with MSP and rips mad big lines. double back off of a cliff what??

Okay I really dont carry about pcrew or freeskiing productions in general. I dont want or need sponsership. It would be nice to have. The only sponser I could see myself getting and being happy with would be Black Diamond when I get older. Other than that I am taking the path onto becoming a moutain guide. SO I can be guiding people like yourself who know very little about riding backcountry but keeping you safe. To me ski touring guide or guiding the Bella Coola Heli Op or guiding some gnarly peaks in alaska I really dont care. As long as I am a guide shredding the gnar.

At this point, I understand that you are not too particular on so-called park rats, but perhaps it would best be kept a little more constructive and not so hasty. Ive said things that I probably shouldn't have too. Whatever, its almost summer and some anger can be understood, cause there is not much skiing left.

Except Im going to Whistler biatches.

Freeskier that was an exzageration. I don't go skinning for 5 hours only to do one run. Maybe 5 hours and I get 5 runs in. But I have had some days skinning 10 hours and having a sick 1 hour run back down to the car.

BTW I do ski louise and sunshine often and never got my ass kicked. Thats the last thing I worry about, more worried about avalanche than have some punk kid come up and say 'you faggot'. Grow up dude.

You say that because you dont have the moeny to heli ski. And yah Seth and pollard are rich gapers. Plus Me and my dad have all of the touring gear...My Dad is even climbing Mt.Logan in a week...you need all the touring gear to do that. Skins and such

Props to your dad on attempting mount logan in the yukon. Couple of my buddies down it and takes some serouis hard core mountaineering skills. What I meant by 'rich gapers' was just ordinary heli resorts like CMH Lodge where its something like 26 grands for a couple of weeks. Dont tell me seth pays 26 grand to ski peaks in norway or alaska becuase its a lot less.

I am hoping to guide cat or heli areas in the near future but wouldn't throw down a couple of grand when I could buy some new sticks.

BTW what AT both you guys got?
