Cant tell if my skis are centered or not

Just got some 06 troublemakers centered with pivot 12s and they look like they're set back. I was sure I told the ski tech to center them, but I don't know. Is there a way I can tell if they're centered by the any of the markings on the ski?

Yes it's very easy, just turn one ski upside-down, and put them base to base. The bindings should line up exactly if it is a true center mount. So one skis heel piece would line up with the other skis toe piece. Does that make sense. I can show a picture if you really don't get it.

yeah, click your boot in. look for the tick mark in the plastic in the center of your boot. check and see if it lines up with a bump in the topsheet/sidewall on the ski. that's the recommended mounting point for the ski. if your boot's center mark lines up with that, then you are definitely not centered. if your boot's center mark is a few inches ahead of that bump, you're good to go.

Take it back to the shop and show them how they aren't centered. Unless your shop is completely homo, they should help you out.

my shop did this same thing. im getting them remounted to two back instead of the 5 back where they mounted it.

Most shop techs think core center when you say "center them". Core center is usually back from true center unless its a symmetrically designed ski. If you said "center", its not necessarily their fault. Thats why you always tape out and mark where you want them mounted, make it obvious, post-it notes, masking tape, sharpie line with arrows, anything. This goes to anyone, if you want them mounted somewhere else than recommended, mark it out yourself and make it obvious. If you said true center though and they mounted core center, you may be able to get a free remount. Be polite about it though, don't act like a kid or the shop guys will just hate you more.

ya i realized this shortly after i realized they werent center. you have to say core center or they mount them at suggested mount which is 5 back.

NOT core center. DEAD CENTER. big difference. Core center is the center of the core, dead center is measure out center of the ski.

I think this is a little bit much. Even though they will have another set of holes in them. I'd be pissed but that is a little too far IMO.

definatly get them remounted they won't ski no where near as good if they arn't true centre. that a big stuff up by the person who mounted em..
